Sam Griffin Owens, known professionally as Sam Evian, is an American songwriter, instrumentalist and producer based in New York. He has released three full-length albums and one 7" single.

Hala Strana is the name of a recording project of American musician Steven R. Smith. Smith began recording under the name in 2002 as an outlet which allowed him to explore the traditional music of Eastern Europe more fully than possible with his solo work. Although numerous musicians have contributed to the project, including Glenn Donaldson, Loren Chasse, and Darren Ankenman, most Hala Strana recordings are solo productions. His recordings have included such diverse instruments as hurdy-gurdy, bouzouki, harmonium, spike fiddles, bulbul tarang, the optigan keyboard, xaphoon, and field recordings. Hala Strana's releases have featured arrangements of traditional music from Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Albania, Ukraine and Bulgaria as well as original music influenced by the music of these areas. Hala Strana has recorded for a number of independent labels such as Soft Abuse, Last Visible Dog, Jewelled Antler, and Emperor Jones.

Hoops was an American indie pop band from Bloomington, Indiana.

Hoops began as a solo project for musician Drew Auscherman. In December 2011, this first version of Hoops debuted with the song Commercial, followed by a dual-song release called Avian Way later in the month. Auscherman recruited the rest of the band members in 2011 while they were all juniors in high school, however, they had all been friends since sixth grade. After Auscherman's solo Hoops releases of Rosie's Garden (2012) and the full-length Little Pleasures (2014), the full-band Hoops released their first tape titled Tape #1 in 2015, which contains versions of Little Pleasures songs "Be There" and "Grass," the former of which was re-recorded for the release. Hoops later released two more tapes, #2 and #3 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. Following a live session with Audiotree Live in July 2016, Hoops released their first self-titled EP on Fat Possum Records. Hoops then released their first full-length album with Fat Possum, titled Routines, in May 2017, which reached #21 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart. In November 2017, Hoops released the compilation of their full-band tapes, titled Tapes #1-3 on vinyl.

Alexander Giannascoli, better known by his stage names Alex G or, formerly, (Sandy) Alex G, is an American musician, producer, and singer-songwriter. He started his career with DIY self-releases on Bandcamp and began building up an audience with his label debut, DSU (2014), released on Orchid Tapes to critical acclaim from various publications. He later signed with Lucky Number, who reissued his earlier releases, Rules and Trick (2012). In 2015, he signed with Domino Recording Company and released his sixth studio album, Beach Music. He followed it in 2017 with Rocket, which received further acclaim and recognition. Giannascoli's eighth studio album, House of Sugar, was released in 2019, and his ninth album God Save the Animals was released on September 23, 2022.

Brendan Patrick Rice (born March 11, 1997), better known by his stage name Gus Dapperton, is an American singer and songwriter from Warwick, New York.

Dapperton has received particular attention for his fashion style, consisting at some points of a green bowl cut, noticeable jewelry, eyeliner, brightly colored clothing, and thick-rimmed glasses.

Dapperton's song "Of Lacking Spectacle" was featured on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and appears on the soundtrack album.

Gus Dapperton released his debut single, "Moodna, Once With Grace", in 2016. In 2017, Dapperton released his debut EP, Yellow and Such.

In 2018, Dapperton released his second EP, You Think You're A Comic!.

xDEATHSTARx was an American Christian metal band from Redlands, California. All of the members are straight edge and they incorporate both Christian and straight edge themes within their music, with their view of the loss of values in modern society.

The group released its first album in 2004 and is currently signed to Facedown Records. xDEATHSTARx has recorded two full-length albums and two independent EPs on independent record labels, including Facedown Records, Life Sentence Records, and I Witness Media. The band features three full-time vocalists as well as two guitarists and a bassist. They have appeared on the Discovery Channel's Jesse James' Monster Garage. In 2008, they released a remastered version of their debut album, which had been out of print. In March 2009 the band announced they were breaking up and moving on their separate ways.

Grapetooth is a Chicago-based new wave-influenced duo. The project, which consists of Clay Frankel and Chris Bailoni, was started in 2015.

Twin Peaks member Clay Frankel and Chris Bailoni, also known as Chicago producer Home-sick, met in 2012 through mutual friends. Three years later in 2015, the two bonded over similar musical tastes while out a bar and made a resolution to create music together. Frankel and Bailoni stumbled into the group’s sound after writing their first single, “Trouble.” Calling the project Grapetooth as a reference to Frankel’s wine consumption, the duo began playing and gathering attention at wild-mannered shows in Chicago. Grapetooth shared their second single, “Violent” in May 2018 and they released their debut album "Grapetooth" on November 9, 2018 on Polyvinyl Records. On February 12, 2020 Grapetooth, alongside fellow Chicago-based Musician Lala Lala, released a pair of singles, "Fantasy Movie" b/w "Valentine", on Hardly Art Records.

Candida Mary Doyle (born 25 August 1963) is an English musician who is keyboard player and occasional backing vocalist with the band Pulp, which she joined in 1984. She joined her brother, drummer Magnus Doyle in the line-up, replacing a previous keyboard player who had left the band.

Doyle attended piano lessons from age 8, but did not practise despite finding the experience enjoyable. At age 16 Doyle was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.

During Doyle's first few years in the group, Pulp were not enjoying financial success; she has been recorded as saying that she spent more money on the band than she made from it. She kept jobs in two toy shops in Manchester, before being sacked from one for a "lack of dedication". Although Pulp "sort of split up" in the period around 1986, they went on to release Freaks in 1987 with Doyle on board for her first album.

Dehd is an American three-piece indie rock band from Chicago formed in 2015. The band consists of members Emily Kempf Jason Balla,(b. March 25, 1990) and Eric McGrady.

Bane is an American hardcore punk band that began in 1995 as a side project between Aaron Dalbec and Damon Bellorado. Dalbec approached Matt Firestone to sing and they played under the moniker of Gateway for a few shows, before Firestone parted ways to focus on other projects. Dalbec then approached Aaron Bedard about singing for Bane. They went into the studio in December 1995 with a few friends and released a five-song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout central Massachusetts. In early 1997, Bane released Free to Think, Free to Be EP, and in 1998 the band released the Holding This Moment 7" and CD collection, and embarked upon their first US tour. Like many other hardcore bands, Bane are known for their promotion of tolerance and unity within the scene.

Noise Pop Festival is an annual week-long music and arts festival that takes place throughout the San Francisco Bay Area produced by Noise Pop. From 1993 to 2020, and then resuming in 2022, Noise Pop Festival has provided exposure to some emerging artists, many of which have gone on to widespread acclaim, including The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Flaming Lips, The Shins, Fleet Foxes, Bright Eyes and Yoko Ono.

Alvin D. Loving Jr. (September 19, 1935 – June 21, 2005), better known as Al Loving, was an African-American abstract expressionist painter. His work is known for hard-edge abstraction, fabric constructions, and large paper collages, all exploring complicated color relationships.

Alvin Demar Loving Jr. was born on September 19, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan. Loving earned a BFA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1963 and an MFA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. His mentor at the University of Michigan was Al Mullen, who helped him get involved with the Once Group organization. In 1968 Loving moved to New York City, where he moved into the infamous Hotel Chelsea.

Matthew Adam Tavares (born September 15, 1990), also known as Matty, is a Canadian musician, songwriter, and music producer. He is best known as a founder of the instrumental group BADBADNOTGOOD, with whom he released five studio albums and produced with for other artists. Tavares released his first solo album in 2018 and has since released a series of solo and collaborative genre-spanning albums. As a songwriter, he has helped pen songs for the likes of Post Malone, Rosalía, Camilla Cabello, Kendrick Lamar, and Kali Uchis, and often works with producer Frank Dukes.

Matthew Adam Tavares was born on September 15, 1990, and grew up in Mississauga, Ontario where he attended the local preparatory school Mentor College. He attended Humber College where he studied jazz performance and later met drummer Alexander Sowinski and bassist Chester Hansen in the program. In 2010, they formed BADBADNOTGOOD. The band had viral success in 2011 after posting jazz covers of Odd Future online, and released their debut record that Fall. He withdrew from school in February 2012.

Her's were an indie rock band from Liverpool, England, composed of Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading. The band's debut full-length LP Invitation to Her's was released in August 2018, following the compilation LP Songs of Her's which had been released in May 2017.

The duo were killed in the early hours of 27 March 2019 in a road traffic collision in Arizona, while on tour in the United States.

The band's line-up consisted of Stephen Fitzpatrick, from Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England, who sang lead vocals and played guitar, and Audun Laading, from Flekkerøy, Kristiansand, Norway, who played bass guitar and sang backing vocals. Fitzpatrick was also a drummer, but the band used a drum machine, which both members contributed to the programming of.
