Minimal Techno

Boris Brejcha (Czech pronunciation: [ˈbrɛjxaː]; born November 26, 1981 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein) is a German DJ and record producer. He describes his music style as "high-tech minimal." His style has been compared with DJ Umek, and Solomun.

Brejcha frequently wears a joker mask based on a Carnival of Venice design. He has performed at clubs and festivals around the world, including Tomorrowland, Timewarp and Exit festival. Boris founded the label Fckng Serious in 2015 with Ann Clue and Deniz Bul. He performed for the first time in Ibiza in August 2019, at Hï Ibiza club.

On 24 January 2020, Brejcha released his 6th album Space Diver as his first album for Ultra Records.

On 2021, Brejcha had the 42th position on DJ Mags Top 100 DJs.

Drumcode Records is a Swedish techno label managed by Adam Beyer. The label was founded in 1996 and has enjoyed a streak of success in its releases, talent scouting, radio efforts, and general international label camaraderie ever since. As of August 2018 the label is the highest-selling business techno record label on Beatport over the past year, according to BeatStats, and third highest-selling label on Beatport of all time. Its roots are in its native Scandinavia, originally only housing Swedish producers, but in the label's history it has since branched out to working with those whose sound fit the profile, rather than whose nationality aligns best.

Label owner Adam Beyer also hosts the techno podcast Drumcode Radio Live.

Monika Kruse (born 23 July 1971) is a German techno DJ/producer and record label owner, with a career in electronic music spanning more than 25 years. She played an influential role in the early Munich rave scene during the early 1990s and was among the first wave of German techno artists to tour internationally, before moving to Berlin at the end of the decade where she founded her Terminal M record label.

Kruse remains a prominent fixture on the international house and techno scene, with regular appearances at major European events like Awakenings and Time Warp, and is also known for her long-term commitment to social justice via her No Historical Backspin charity that she founded in 2000.

Joris Voorn (born 25 February 1977 in Moergestel) is a Dutch DJ who resides in Amsterdam. Joris is the co-owner of the Amsterdam based labels Rejected (with Edwin Oosterwal) and Green. He plays his own house-style which is considered close to Detroit Techno. Additionally Joris is a graduate in interior architecture.

Like many musicians, Voorn had a strong affiliation with music at a young age, growing up in the city of Schiedam where he learned how to play the guitar and violin. (His father was a composer of music.) However, once the radio opened his mind to newer influences, Voorn became hooked on techno. During his education he won a DJ competition in Enschede which kick-started Joris' music career. Since 1997 Joris has been regularly booked for gigs and had a residency at the ATAK. However his first production was not until 2002 when he released his "Muted Trax" EP. This release, as well as support from Carl Craig, Derrick May and Laurent Garnier made him decide to (temporarily) give up interior architecture and focus on his DJing career. In 2003 his "Lost Memories" EP became another hit. In the same year Joris was crowned Talent of the Year at the Dutch DJ Awards.

Mark Reeve (* 21. November 1978 in Poole, Vereinigtes Königreich) ist ein DJ und Produzent, der in Frankfurt am Main lebt.

Bereits mit zwölf Jahren begann Reeve, eigene experimentelle Musikstücke zu entwickeln, mit denen es ihm gelang, sich in der Clubszene zu etablieren. Nach seinem 16. Lebensjahr verlegte er seinen Lebensmittelpunkt nach Deutschland, um dort die Aufmerksamkeit von Richie Hawtin und Sven Väth zu erlangen. Regelmäßige Veröffentlichungen erfolgten ab dem Jahr 2010 bei den verschiedensten Labels, wie Cocoon Recordings, dem Stammlabel von Sven Väth, Traum Schallplatten, Defected, Soma sowie Drumcode, auf welchem die in der Szene populären Einspielungen Far Away, Distance und Get It erschienen. 2015 gründete er sein eigenes Label.

Chaïm Soutine (13 January 1893 – 9 August 1943) was a Russian painter of Belarusian Jewish origin. Soutine made a major contribution to the expressionist movement while living in Paris.

Inspired by classic painting in the European tradition, exemplified by the works of Rembrandt, Chardin and Courbet, Soutine developed an individual style more concerned with shape, color, and texture over representation, which served as a bridge between more traditional approaches and the developing form of Abstract Expressionism.

Soutine was born Chaim Sutin, in Smilavichy near Minsk, (modern day) Belarus (then part of the Russian Empire). He was the tenth of eleven children. From 1910 to 1913 he studied in Vilnius at the Vilna Academy of Fine Arts. In 1913, with his friends Pinchus Kremegne (1890–1981) and Michel Kikoine (1892–1968), he emigrated to Paris, where he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts under Fernand Cormon. He soon developed a highly personal vision and painting technique.

InFiné is a French record label directed by Alexandre Cazac and Yannick Matray. Coming from electronic music, the label usually goes off the beaten path, from classical music to ambient, through club or pop music.

The idea of the label InFiné came true in February 2005 when Alexandre Cazac attends a concert by Francesco Tristano at Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris. The pianist covered "Strings of Life", founding track of Detroit techno music, produced by Derrick May.

Officially, the label is born in January 2006 when Sebastien Devaud and Yannick Matray join Alexandre Cazac. Their first release is indeed the track "Strings of Life" interpreted by Francesco Tristano, with remixes from the German producers Apparat and Kiki.

Cari Lekebusch(born 1972) is a Swedish electronic music producer and DJ based in Stockholm. His productions range from techno to hip hop. He owns a record label, H. Productions, founded and managed by himself. The original name of the record label was Hybrid productions, but a legal twist in 1998 with the Japanese label Avex Trax's British group Hybrid forced Lekebusch to change his record label name to its present name. His studio is called HP HQ (Hybrid production Headquarters).

In the early 1990s Lekebusch became a member of the Stockholm-based remix service group SweMix that at that time had notable members as Denniz Pop and StoneBridge (which is called the grandfather of Swedish house music). After a while Lekebusch started to venture out from remixing other artists to create his own music that became not even nearly as mainstream as SweMix productions and at the same time Lekebusch really started to explore techno and electronica. Lekebusch left the remix group not long after.

Justin James Warnock, commonly known by his stage name Justin James, is a Canadian electronic musician, DJ, educator and label owner. He has become an influential part of Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan’s Techno scenes. He is best known for his work with Richie Hawtin’s "Minus" records and Dubfire’s "Sci+Tec" record label, as well for his DJing techno sets making use of laptop computers and digital mixing equipment. In May 2014, James founded his own record label, Refused.
