She & Him is an American musical duo consisting of Zooey Deschanel (vocals, piano, ukulele) and M. Ward (guitar, production) formed in 2006 in Portland, Oregon. The band's first album, Volume One, was released on Merge Records on March 18, 2008.

Deschanel and Ward met on the set of the film The Go-Getter, in which Deschanel had a starring role. Martin Hynes, the director, introduced them to each other and asked them to sing a duet for the film's end credits. They performed the song "When I Get to the Border" by Richard and Linda Thompson. The two bonded over a shared interest in albums produced by George Martin and Phil Spector, as well as certain Ralph Peer groups such as the Carter Family.

Jamie Jones is a Welsh DJ, producer and two time DJ Awards winner.

A dystopia (from Ancient Greek δυσ- "bad" and τόπος "place"; alternatively cacotopia or simply anti-utopia) is a community or society that is undesirable or frightening. It is an antonym of utopia, a term that was coined by Sir Thomas More and figures as the title of his best known work, published in 1516, which created a blueprint for an ideal society with minimal crime, violence and poverty.

Dystopias are often characterized by dehumanization, tyrannical governments, environmental disaster, or other characteristics associated with a cataclysmic decline in society. Dystopian societies appear in many fictional works and artistic representations, particularly in stories set in the future. Dystopian societies appear in many sub-genres of fiction and are often used to draw attention to society, environment, politics, economics, religion, psychology, ethics, science or technology. Some authors use the term to refer to existing societies, many of which are, or have been, totalitarian states or societies in an advanced state of collapse.

Maya Jane Coles is a music producer, audio engineer and DJ based in the United Kingdom, born in London of British and Japanese descent. Under her real name, she mostly composes and plays techno music, while her alias Nocturnal Sunshine creates darker, more bass-driven productions with a heavy hip-hop and dub influence. She was previously part of an electronic dub duo called She Is Danger with Lena Cullen.

Daniel Börtz (born 8 August 1943) is a Swedish composer, born in Hässleholm.

He studied composition under Hilding Rosenberg, Karl-Birger Blomdahl and Ingvar Lidholm. Among his works are the operas Bacchanterna (1991), Marie Antoinette (1998) and Goya (2009). His Sinfonia 13 was performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019.

Hosh war eine Alternative-Rock-Band aus Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein.

Ursprünglich von den noch verbliebenen Gründungsmitgliedern Jan Robitzky und Mark Thomas Lemke Anfang der 1990er auf dem klassischen Weg als Metal-Schulband gegründet, fand sich die zuletzt bekannte, aus Dithmarschen stammende Bandbesetzung bereits Anfang 1994 zusammen. Nicht zuletzt aufgrund ihres schrittweise vollzogenen musikalischen Richtungswechsels gaben sich die fünf Freunde 1999 mit Hosh einen neuen Bandnamen, nachdem sie vorher bereits mit härteren Songs als Sceptic Acceptance regional bekannt wurden. Beim John Lennon Förderpreis 1997 war die Band bis ins Finale vorgestoßen.

Nach der ersten Single Marie, die Anfang Dezember 2000 bei Eastwest Records erschien und auch auf dem Lord-of-the-Boards- sowie Hörsturz-Sampler vertreten war, und einer Tour im Vorprogramm von Liquido, Therapy? und VAST im Jahr 2000 wurde ein Debütalbum angekündigt. Mit den Songs des selbstbetitelten Albums ließ das Quintett seine deutlich wütendere Vergangenheit hinter sich, um melodischen Rock mit Alternative-Anleihen zu machen.

Rekids is a UK-based independent record label, conceived in 2006 by Matt Edwards (aka Radio Slave) and James Masters. The label releases mainly electronic dance music, incorporating elements of techno, house and disco. The label has a number of core artists, among which includes Nina Kraviz.  Rekids has released a plethora of original work and remixes from various artists including Carl Craig, DJ Sneak, Kenny Larkin, Claude VonStroke, Josh Wink, Steve Lawler, Slam and Dubfire.

The label releases on a variety of formats, including vinyl, CD and digital. All singles in the Rekids catalogue are released on vinyl as well as digitally. Albums and compilations are available on both CD and digital. Releases on Rekids sub-label REK'D are digital only, with the exception of the first release REK'D001 - Dustin Zahn - Stranger (To Stability) which was also released on vinyl.  REKIDS006CD, The Machine's (aka Matt Edwards) debut album 'RedHead' was also released on vinyl and is part of a wider collaborative project incorporating audio and visuals by Misha Hollenbach, one half of art and design duo Perks and Mini (P.A.M.).

Self-stimulatory behaviour, also known as stimming and self-stimulation, is the repetition of physical movements, sounds, words, or moving objects. Such behaviours (also scientifically known as 'stereotypies') are found to some degree in all people, especially those with developmental disabilities and are especially frequent in people on the autism spectrum. People diagnosed with sensory processing disorder are also known to potentially exhibit stimming behaviours. Stimming has been interpreted as a protective response to over-stimulation, in which people calm themselves by blocking less predictable environmental stimuli, to which they have a heightened sensitivity. A further explanation views stimming as a way to relieve anxiety and other negative or heightened emotions.

"Holding the Moth" is a song by electronic band Underworld, and was released as a single on 7 December 2008. The single was released mainly as a way to capitalize on the success of the song's remix by Audiojack.

AKA AKA ist ein deutsches Produzenten-, DJ- und Remixer-Duo im Bereich der elektronischen Tanzmusik, bestehend aus Johannes Bergheim und Holger Kampling.

Das Duo AKA AKA wurde 2009 von dem Saarländer Johannes Bergheim und dem Emder Holger Kampling gegründet. Der Titel „Woody Woodpecker“ auf ihrer ersten Single-Veröffentlichung auf Oliver Koletzkis Label Stil vor Talent erreichte Platz 1 der Beatport-Verkaufscharts im Genre Minimal und wurde im Mai 2010 bei den Beatport Music Awards zum drittbesten Titel gekürt.

Im Oktober 2009 gründeten AKA AKA ihr eigenes Label Burlesque Musique, auf dem sie im Mai 2011 mit dem Komponist und Trompeter Thalstroem ihr Debüt-Album „Varieté“ veröffentlichten. Dieses stieg bis auf Platz 1 der Sale-Charts von Amazon.de im Genre Techno und hielt die Position über Wochen. Zudem wurde es von den Lesern der Zeitschrift Groove und des Partysan-Magazins unter die zehn besten Alben 2011 gewählt. Auch das im Jahr 2012 folgende Album „Varieté Remixed“, das über 30 Neuinterpretationen von Originalstücken von u. a. Technasia, Moonbootica und Marek Hemmann beinhaltete, erreichte die Position 1 der Sale-Charts von Amazon.de im Genre Techno.

Cadence rampa, or simply kadans, is a dance music and modern méringue popularized in the Caribbean by the virtuoso Haitian sax player Webert Sicot in the early 1960s. Cadence rampa was one of the sources of cadence-lypso. Cadence and compas are two names for the same Haitian modern meringue.

David Cloud Berman was an American musician, singer and poet. In 1989, he founded the indie rock band Silver Jews with Pavement's Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich, and he was its only constant member until its dissolution in 2009. Berman wrote Silver Jews' lyrics; further, with Malkmus, he developed the simple country-rock sound that characterized their early lo-fi recordings. His abstract and autobiographical lyrics, which he extensively labored over, were his creative priority.
