My reaction to watching the original Eva series: OH DEAR GODDESS WHYYYY??????? THIS IS SO SICK!!! *continues watching*My reaction to reading this: Awwww!!!!! So cute! As you can probably tell, the only connection between the original series and this manga are characters names and the fact that angels and giant robot-things are involved. This manga takes out all the nightmare fuel, depressing backstory stories, and mind games that made the original series so sadistically entertaining to watch and replaces it with romance drama. Still I liked this manga. Why? For the shameful reason that I got to see my favorite “fandom” pairing finally get together and it provided me with lots of good fangirl squeal moments. If you’re a fan of the original Eva series but wanted to see more snuggly interactions between the characters or just wanted to see a happy ending for our fave giant robot pilots than I think you’ll enjoy this spin-off series. The only downside to this manga was the artwork; I personally find the original character designs adorable so I don’t know why the author changed them to look more “cartoony.” Still, if you’re depressed after watching End of Eva than do yourself a favor and give this series a shot. It may provide you with a nice pick me up and make you go “Awww!” too. Side note: This manga is supposedly for “older teens” but it really has nothing inappropriate in it and I would say is safe for a younger audience. However to enjoy this you probably have to be familiar with the original series which is a different story.

But then, stories like these don't have a definitive conclusion as like our own lives. Things always keep changing, for good or bad that's another thing.Inio Asano is a genius. This is probably one of those manga which I loved and understood but really couldn't explain to others. Because it is more than a story, it is more about reflection on our very own lives.When I see Punpun (can find a lot of similarities between him &amp; me), I realise fault in very own character, how the society and my own family influenced it, that led me to live so many miserable days and still continuing. Welcome to the Nhk (my favourite anime ever) and this manga both have similar kind of characters (manga is more deep into characters lives though) but these two stories end on polar ends, but both are brilliant in their own way. People say this manga as most depressing they have ever read, but I really didn't feel it that way.Artwork as always is work of god in any of Asano's work. Pure magic.One of the best thing read this year definitely, give it read, it is a strange, painful, introspecting yet so real.

Quizás es ridículo lo que voy a decir porque no he leído tantos mangas en mi vida pero pasa a mis favoritos y dudo que le quiten el puesto. Bueno, tampoco así pero ha sido un viaje de autodescubrimiento y lo he sentido tan personal que es difícil no encariñarme con la variedad de personajes y sus dilemas que tampoco distan mucho de los míos. Me ha parecido brutal y muy bien hecha la psicología de los personajes. Grises, como me gustan y por si fuera poco: real. Todo ha sido muy orgánico y una montaña rusa cuesta abajo. Hasta el final. Se me han salido algunas lagrimillas no voy a mentir.

Close to having enough money for the operation, Selma races against time before she loses enough sight to lose her job and her role in the musical. What may also threaten Selma's goal of the operation for Gene is some financial problems facing Bill, who feels pressured to provide Linda with the comforts of life to which she's accustomed.

Through interviews with his mother, two brothers, wife, and ex-girlfriends, as well as selections from his vast quantity of graphic art, we are treated to a darkly comic ride through one man's subconscious mind. As stream-of-consciousness images incessantly flow forth from the tip of his pen, biting social satire is revealed, often along with a disturbing and haunting vision of Crumb's own betes noires and inadequacies. As his acid-trip induced images flicker across our own retinas, we gain a little insight into this complex and highly creative individual.

Waking Life follows the dream(s) of one man and his attempt to find and discern the absolute difference between waking life and the dreamworld. While trying to figure out a way to wake up, he runs into many people on his way; some of which offer one sentence asides on life, others delving deeply into existential questions and life's mysteries. We become the main character. It becomes our dream and our questions being asked and answered. Can we control our dreams? What are they telling us about life? About death? About ourselves and where we come from and where we are going? The film does not answer all these for us. Instead, it inspires us to ask the questions and find the answers ourselves.

In 1970s Iran, Marjane 'Marji' Satrapi watches events through her young eyes and her idealistic family of a long dream being fulfilled of the hated Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Chihiro and her parents are moving to a small Japanese town in the countryside, much to Chihiro's dismay. On the way to their new home, Chihiro's father makes a wrong turn and drives down a lonely one-lane road which dead-ends in front of a tunnel. Her parents decide to stop the car and explore the area. They go through the tunnel and find an abandoned amusement park on the other side, with its own little town. When her parents see a restaurant with great-smelling food but no staff, they decide to eat and pay later. However, Chihiro refuses to eat and decides to explore the theme park a bit more. She meets a boy named Haku who tells her that Chihiro and her parents are in danger, and they must leave immediately. She runs to the restaurant and finds that her parents have turned into pigs. In addition, the theme park turns out to be a town inhabited by demons, spirits, and evil gods. At the center of the town is a bathhouse where these creatures go to relax. The owner of the bathhouse is the evil witch Yubaba, who is intent on keeping all trespassers as captive workers, including Chihiro. Chihiro must rely on Haku to save her parents in hopes of returning to their world.
