I know that there is a whole slew of people who object to reading adaptations and abridged versions of classics. And for a mature audience, I'm against abridged versions too..... but I've chosen to use adaptations, re-tellings and abridged versions of certain classics with my son as a first exposure.... I've done this with Homer's Odyssey and the Iliad - and he will tell you that the Odyssey is his all time favorite story. Mission accomplished - when he's older and ready to tackle Homer - he'll do so with fond memories and a bit of knowledge with which to work from...instead of feeling intimidated!I'm choosing to do the same thing with Shakespeare... my strategy will be to introduce a child's adaptation and then to watch a child-friendly production as an introduction to some of the Bard's works.... hoping that he'll grow up knowing that he loves Shakespeare...Bruce Coville's adaptation of A Midsummere's Night Dream was fantastic... the pictures were captivating and the wording gave just the perfect flavor as a first intro to this play! I look forward to reading more of his adaptations!

I liked the Heroes of Olympus a lot more than Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The new cast of characters are wonderful, and I love seeing the old cast a bit more mature than when we last saw them. I figured my Greek mythology knowledge was pretty good, but I learned more about life previous to the Greek gods in this series. What's fun is that this knowledge is weaved into the background of the story. Seeing all the demigods grow into their own and work together was a lot of fun. Where as Percy/Annabeth are a minor aspect of the prequel, it's more of a major plot element in this series and I grew to adore those two together. I'd love to seem them again in another story. The only thing I really didn't like about this series was Nico. After the end of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I was really excited to see Nico. After Nico made friends and was accepted by the camp, I expected him to be a cool character. Instead, Riordan decided to pretend like Nico hadn't been accepted or made any friends, and he became more whiny and obnoxious than he had ever been. He irritated me pretty much the entire series.

I think this is the first book I've ever hated. And that list is pretty short. As a child, it really distressed me - I didn't understand much of it, and it confused me why its tone was so very different from the other Narnia books. Then, when I reread it a few years ago, it just pissed me off. The message about religious pluralism is refreshing, sure, but the book just plain reads wrong, and I will probably never get over Lewis's treatment of Susan. I guess if you don't believe in God, you deserve to lose your entire family in a train crash. Awesome.I suppose there is some hope in that Susan did not die - maybe her family's gruesome deaths will help her find God, and then a train will kill her too, and she'll join Peter, Edmund, and Lucy in Aslan's country! Bleargh.

It has been re-released twice, first as a bundled release with a special edition Nintendo DS with a new version called Nintendogs: Best Friends, and later as Nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends.Nintendogs uses the DS's touchscreen and built-in microphone. The touch screen allows the player to pet a dog, as well as to use various items that can be found or purchased. These range from balls and frisbees, to toys, to grooming supplies to keep the dogs happy. The microphone is used to call to the player's dog by speaking the name given to the dog in the beginning of the game as well as to teach the dog tricks such as "sit" or "roll over". Players can bring their dogs on walks and to the park if they so choose. They may interact with other players in multi-player by using the DS's wireless linkup. It also uses the DS's internal clock and calendar to allow the dog to grow hungrier or dirtier based on the elapsed time.

Iron Chef Americais an American cooking show based on Fuji Television'sIron Chef, and is the second American adaptation of the series, following the failedIron Chef USAthat aired in 2001.
