And the people who lost family, while justified in their feelings, are not justified in their actions. Wtf?! There is tension aplenty in this book, but not a lot of action and no worries about losing anyone of importance this time out. And, omg, Negan. Negan, Negan, Negan…what are you up to now?

First, Rick’s group settled in Alexandria, then they knew about The Hilltop, later came the Saviors and their secret headquarters “The Sanctuary”, and now there was The Kingdom.The Kingdom is yet another community (with certain offbeat customs) under the extortion of Negan.However, while Rick is aware of how larger his world has become, he is aware of something else. Each time, there are more other communities in the area……and only one community loyal to Negan.And something more important, if The Hilltop has a Jesus, it seems that The Sanctuary has a “Judas”.

Carl ran off, and poor Sophie thought she was done for...But...CARL.FUCK YEAH! CARL!In retrospect, he may have gone a bit overboard. Nah.No. No, you didn't kill them, Carl. Just when I assumed the TV show had creatively eclipsed the comic book, Robert Kirkman pulls a stunner out of his hat.The story takes place several years (?) after the last volume, with our group finally getting some traction on living a somewhat normal life. The group has slowly built itself back up to something resembling a society and Rick is the “Man”. All is good and getting better. Or so you would have thought.Along the way, Kirkman drops veiled hints as to which direction the story might take, but the ultimate payoff is something I would not have guessed. Well done!

Michonne is my motherfucking hero!I've honestly developed a girl crush on one (or more) of her personalities.Warning: Spoilers! Lots of 'em!Ok, there's a lot of stuff that happens in this one, but (to me) it all pales in comparison to the fantastically gory justice that Michonne lays down on The Governor.She nailed his rapey dick to the floor! Oh my God! I loved it! Seriously, I think I fell in love with her for reals when she pulled out the torch. I mean, that whole scene just had a beauty to it that I can't even describe... *swoons*Don't you ever change, Michonne!Ok, this is by far my favorite volume of this title as of yet. Definitely deserving of all five of the stars, if for nothing but the spectacular Revenge Fantasy that I already mentioned.But.There was also the introduction of The Govenor, himself.His creepy zombie kid, the insane town he runs, and that whole wall of floating heads! What a perfect villain!And don't forget Rick's hand! Ahhhhh! Shit, shit shit! Did that really just happen? Yes.
