Each series contains up to eight episodes consisting of single stories by writers and directors with no previous experience or less than two hours previous screen time, who are sourced through a talent scheme of the same name. Each series encompasses a wide range of genres and topics, using a range of both experienced and fresh actors.

Set in Margate, each episode, created by actor improvisation, acts as a self-contained story, though all five stories are set in the same place and time and roughly interlink: A married man is torn between his family and his first love; a female teacher develops feelings for a female pupil; a middle aged woman ponders how to deal with stale marriage and cheating husband; a new father experiences love at first sight with a younger woman; and a divorcée searching for true love deals with an obsessive stalker.

The residents of an affluent street in London are busy getting on with their lives, when suddenly something very strange happens. Every house in the street has an identical, mysterious postcard pushed through their letterboxes that simply states "WE WANT WHAT YOU HAVE". At first, the residents of Pepys Road dismiss the notes as some sort of marketing campaign but gradually as events begin to escalate it becomes clear that there is something more to this strange occurrence than something as mundane as that.
