From the youth directed novel of the same name by Greogor Tressnow comes a film by Detlev Buck that is a realistic portrait of life in the section of Berlin called Neukölln. It's about power and weakness, delinquents and victims, and the difficulties a 15-year-old faces in a poor and criminal environment.

Two young teachers, Malte and Liv, are spending their summer holiday on the Mediterranean coast, when they are suddenly attacked by three young men and Liv is assaulted. While she is trying on strangers, Robert hesitates between the roles of observer and accomplice. Their game grows more serious as the end of their childhood draws nearer and nearer.

A group of German construction workers start a tough job at a remote site in the Bulgarian countryside. In 1986 an 11-year-old schoolgirl is raped and murdered by Peer Sommer while his friend Timo watches silently from the passenger seat of his car. Timo leaves after the murder, to Sommer's dismay. In 2009, exactly 23 years later, a 13-year-old girl goes missing and her bicycle is discovered in the same spot where the first crime happened. Senior detective Mittich, who investigated the original murder takes an interest in the new case, but he is blocked from participating by the new senior detective. Are the two murders related or it's just a coincidence? Will Timo approach the police finally after 23 years of silence?
