Goodnight Punpun, Vol. 2
Inio Asano
Estoy intrigado.

Invader Zim Vol. 3
K.C. Green, Eric Trueheart
Another great addition to the Zim-verse, especially the time travel story (wow, Zim has had two time travel stories (three if you count the episode where Dib thinks he won) and both were great, though I think Piggies might have the edge over this one, but it's CLOSE). Other than that, this collection checked all the boxes of great Zim stories: Dib being tormented for no good reason, Gir being Gir (TUNA-CAT!), Gaz being Gaz (and having to restrain herself from killing her brother), a story about Ms. Bitters, and Zim's insanity at full throttle. Not only is it an enjoyable volume in and of itself, but the great thing about these comic books is that thanks to their success it appears that Nickelodeon is bringing back Zim for a made-for-TV movie! AWESOME! (I'm sure recap kid is losing it right now)

Parasyte, Volume 5
Hitoshi Iwaaki
I found out what I hate in this manga: teeth! How ugly their teeth are drawn! They seem like a monster when they show their goddamn awfully big teeth! I wanted Murano and even Kana have some big parts in the story or some solid personalities. Still the story is about Shinichi and Migi, so I guess I have to roll with it. Now another person near to Shinichi died. I didn't feel sad or anything, so it is a minus for the story. Still I am curious what will happen to all these parasites on earth. What are they planning? Are they going to coexist with humans? I doubt so. Despite not liking manga art, I like the animation. In anime Shinichi and other characters are more modern. Hate oldie hairstyles and clothes!PS: (view spoiler)[ Kana's death in anime was more emotional. (hide spoiler)]

Gyo, Vol. 1
伊藤潤二, Junji Ito
Series Description: Just when you thought it was safe to get out of the water, fish grow legs! From the mind of acclaimed artist Junji Ito comes this diabolic cross between Resident Evil and The Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau. Yes, it's Gyo, where terror takes the name of horribly mutated fish and sea creatures that invade, en masse, a seaside town. Sophisticated, atmospheric work by perhaps the finest horror comics working in the world today. Young couple Tadashi and Kaori are vacationing in Okinawa, but instead of enjoying their time, they bicker endlessly about such important topics as Tadashi's bad breath! But that stench may actually be something quite different. When a strange walking fish appears, Tadashi and Kaori know something's amiss. When a Great White Shark attacks -- walking -- they know they're in real trouble!

Snotgirl, Volume 3: Is This Real Life?
Maré Odomo, Bryan Lee O'Malley
I didn't really like this third volume of Snotgirl. We basically got no further than what we already knew from volume 2. Coolgirl is kind of becoming annoying and it's just taking too long to discover what her deal is. This volume had all the elements of the previous ones, but I think that in this one they were just more absurd and over the top.

No Longer Human
Junji Ito
Nothing can surpass the terror of the human psyche.Mine has been a life of much shame. I can't even guess myself what it must be to live the life of a human being.Plagued by a maddening anxiety, the terrible disconnect between his own concept of happiness and the joy of the rest of the world, Yozo Oba plays the clown in his dissolute life, holding up a mask for those around him as he spirals ever downward, locked arm-in-arm with death.Osamu Dazai’s immortal?and supposedly autobiographical?work of Japanese literature, is perfectly adapted here into a manga by Junji Ito. The imagery wrenches open the text of the novel one line at a time to sublimate Yozo’s mental landscape into something even more delicate and grotesque. This is the ultimate in art by Ito, proof that nothing can surpass the terror of the human psyche.
