A young man spurs romance and helps his friend and himself go through times and struggles of their ordinary life in Denmark.

When Sam's girlfriend breaks up with him he becomes depressed. To cheer him up, and get things back to normal, his socially awkward brother Simon (Skarsgård) decides to set out on a quest to find Sam a new, perfect, girlfriend. Struggling with his own Asperger Syndrome, the quest is more difficult than Simon first expected.

He wakes up in her bed. He's Josh, an Australian photographer living in London, on holiday in Sydney, leaving in three days. She's Cinthia (Cin), a dress designer. They've met at a party and shared a cab back to their respective places, they're attracted to each other, he'll be gone in three days (no complications), so he stays the night. Each of them talks to the camera occasionally, commenting on what happens; so do her female friends and his male ones. An omniscient taxi driver also helps out. How will those three days go? What could be better than sex?

On her 16th birthday, never-been-kissed Kate decides to play cupid for two people she works with, pairing her boss with a paraplegic customer and setting up short-order cook Rene with an oversexed co-worker. But in the process of matchmaking, Kate learns some surprising lessons about love and the mechanics of romantic relationships.

Ben (Josh Lawson) is a twenty-something up and coming marketing guru who is invited to his old school to speak at a careers event, which is also attended by Alex (Rachael Taylor), an old classmate. This rekindles a mutual attraction between them and is also a life-changing event for Ben, as he starts to question his career to date, and where his life is headed. He turns to those around him for support but realization slowly dawns that it is only he who can control his own destiny.

It is the 1970s and a group of very different individuals live together as a community. One of the members' sister, Elisabeth, needs a new place to stay with her children after having had enough of her alcoholic and abusive husband. Elisabeth is neither a socialist nor a feminist nor into the green movement but ends up loving living in the community where they all learn from each other. The film makes a little fun of people with strong ideals and "square" minds whether they be vegans, communists or people who absolutely disgust vegans or socialists. In the end, the message of the film is that people can grow and gain from bonding with each other. It also shows how we need to shape up a little for this to work, either through working on our behaviour that affects other people badly (like alcoholism or abuse) or the need to set boundaries and not let other people walk all over oneself.

The Independent journalist Tamara Drewe returns to Dorset, Ewedown, to sell the Winnard Farm that belonged to her deceased mother. Her neighbor Beth Hardiment runs a writers retreat with her unfaithful and womanizer husband Nicholas Hardiment who is a successful writer of Inchcombe adventures and cheats on Beth every now and then with younger women. Tamara was the sweetheart of the handyman Andy Cobb, whose family owned the Winnard Farm but lost it to Tamara's family, and when she sees him, she rekindles her love for him. However, when Tamara travels to interview the unpleasant drummer of the Swipe band Ben Sergeant, he has just found that his girlfriend Fran is having an affair with the other musician Steven Culley and he breaks up with the band. Tamara and Ben have a love affair and Ben moves to Winnard. Meanwhile, Ben's teenager fan Jody Long and her best friend Casey Shaw who are bored in Ewedown feel happy with the presence of Ben in the village. When Ben proposes to Tamara, they travel to London to spend a couple of days in the big city. Meanwhile, the jealous Casey breaks in Tamara's house and uses her computer to send an e-mail pretending to be Tamara that will change the lives of the dwellers and end in a tragedy.

Johannes is a writer, and very fond of the nature, but he can never get the girl he loves above all, the wealthy born Victoria. They meet for the first time at age 14, when she is 10. We follow them for years, where we see Johannes making every possible attempt to impress her, and to climb in social rank, at which he does not succeed. They meet up several times, declaring their love for each other, but Victoria is obliged to marry far richer Otto to ensure their parents needed future prosperity.

As young children, half-siblings Axel and Yanne are adopted to Norway. They are separated on arrival, he to material wealth on Oslo's west side, she to an average family on the east side. Georg has love served on a silver platter under a magic Easter sky in the Norwegian mountains, but he has difficulties understanding his own feelings, grasping what is happening to him. There are 20 years between these two love stories. Georg hears the story of his father Jan Olav's quest for the Orange Girl through a letter he receives on his 16th birthday. The letter helps him realize that he cannot let love slip through his fingers. Jan Olav's and Georg's stories are woven together through the letter. Both stories tell tales of chance encounters that change their lives. THE ORANGE GIRL is a love story that raises important questions about our human existence. How do you explain to your son that love is the most important thing in life - indeed, the only thing that gives life meaning? How do you explain that although life can be short and painful, love still makes it worth living? How do you explain that the moment is the only eternity there is?
