Through Adela and Antonia's lives, we have a glimpse of those brief moments of joy and sorrow common to anyone who lives in a big city.

Interwoven emotions and struggles of three women of different generations aiming to build the lives they desire, their own future, love and dreams. All of them lose the love of their lives and they will have to pursue their happiness and fight for their dignity in a dark and hostile word.

The young but travelled Ana arrives in a manor in the countryside of Spain to work as nanny of three girls and finds a dysfunctional family: the matriarch is a sick old woman obsessed by death and having constant nervous breakdowns; her son José was raised dressing in girl's clothes until his First Communion and is obsessed by military clothes and paraphernalia; Juan, the father of the three girls, a pervert since his childhood, writes pornographic letters to Ana; his wife, Luchy, has suicidal tendencies; and the mystic and religious eremite Fernando, who was inflicted to flagellation in his childhood, lives as a recluse in a cave. The presence of Ana disturbs the three brothers with tragic consequences.

Anabel is a high-class old lady who lives happily in Barcelona (Catalonia, northeast to Spain) with her businessman husband Bernabé and their daughter Greta. But during a dinner party organized by Anabel, she sees for the first time in 30 years Chiara, her daughter from her first marriage, disguised as a staff member. Chiara reveals herself to her mother and asks if they can spend 10 days together. Anabel offers Chiara money instead, but when she refuses, a reluctant Anabel gives in to the request. They go to the isolated house they used to live in with Chiara's father, located in a little town in the French Pyrenees. Strangers to each other, Anabel and Chiara spend the days in uncomfortable situations; Anabel tries to learn the reason for her daughter's request, Chiara keeps silent about it. Anabel finds herself reliving her youth and trying to get to know her daughter again. Then Chiara finally reveals the real reason she wanted to spend time with her mother and makes a new request to an off-guard Anabel.

ENT physicians gather at a provincial hotel in Salta. The hotel owner, Helena, is subdued, brittle, avoiding the calls of her ex-husband's pregnant wife. Family dysfunction seems everywhere. Buenos Aires, March 1982. On the streets of the Argentinean capital, people are challenging the military dictatorship. The walls of the school are thick and redoubtable. A secure promise of the guaranteed preservation of the good old days of school routine from anything that may happen outside its walls in the neighbouring streets, in Buenos Aires itself, in the Argentina of 1982. María Teresa is a classroom assistant at that school, an innocent - or maybe just ignorant - mistress of ceremonies, a bystander. She is twenty years old. She started work when it was still summer and Mr. Biasutto, the chief classroom assistant, made quite clear to her at her first interview the sort of attitude she is expected to adopt with students because it would not be an easy task to arrive at what he called 'the optimum surveillance point': Always on the 'qui vive', never missing a thing, but never giving cause for alarm amongst the students. A surveillance which would pick up on everything but would never be picked up on itself. A fleeting look on the face of the pervert, or the warden, or maybe the master. But if everything is out of order -even for her-, everything is transgression. And when María Teresa, hot on the trail of the merest, possibly imaginary wisp of tobacco smoke, starts hiding in the boys lavatories to catch smokers in flagrante delicto and haul them up before the authorities, slowly morphing the whole procedure into a clandestine habit of dubious piquancy; not exactly breaking the rules but bending them willy nilly, twisting, diverting them come what may but, of course, with utter correctness and obeisance to a surveillance emanating from the inflexible custodianship of a complete and atrocious normality. Surveillance, custodianship that could possibly be enforced beyond the boundaries of this enclosed world, because beyond the sheer masonry encasing this school, where the future ruling classes have studied and are studying, there is another world, there is an entire country that has virtually nothing to do with it.

A story of a teenager and the strange events that take place in his small town.

He cherishes the everyday moments with his family. "ALLÁ": The villagers think this year's crop will be bountiful. There is also good work in a growing city an hour away. But the locals are wise to a life of insecurity, and their thoughts are often of family members or opportunities far away, north of the border. While working in the fields, Pedro meets and begins to mentor a teenager who dreams of the US. That place somehow always feels very present, practically knocking at the door. "Aquí y Allá" is a story about hope, and the memories and loss of what we leave behind.

A painter from the big city goes to a remote canyon to commit suicide. To reach some calmness, he stays at the farmstead of Ascen, an old, religious woman. Although but a few words are spoken, love grows.

Four old friends from the university times travel from Barcelona to Berlin to meet Álex Comas, the other friend of the bunch who moved Germany years ago. They are Olivia, a woman pregnant of seven months of her first baby; Guille and Anna, a longtime couple with problems after she was fired and doesn't find a new job; and the naive Eloi, who despite to have work moved to his parents' house after to lose his own by the debts. Arriving the Friday to spend three days remembering old times in order to celebrate with Comas during a full weekend his 35th birthday that it will be the Sunday, the own Comas is surprised by the unexpected visit of the group, but soon the things complicate between them: in their first talks emerge contradictions and conflicts by their different lives and personal situations, and at the end of the night a taciturn and depressive Comas, taking advantage a boys date to drink in a night pub with Guille and Eloi, leaves the pub and misses in the city unable to stay with his friends, leaving the four alone. To the next day, realizing about Comas' missing, Olivia accepts to stay in the house to wait him, while Guille, Eloi and Anna take a walk by Berlin. Cooking a cake, Olivia receives the visit of Marion, who reveals to be Comas' girlfriend since two years ago although the relation ended recently, explaining so Comas' behavior, and the conceited and bad attitude of a full of himself Guille with Eloi makes that he leaves them, causing Anna's rejection to Guille. At the same time that Olivia faces Marion claiming Comas as the father of her baby after an one-night affair when he was in Barcelona months ago, Guille locates by chance to Comas and follows him hoping to talk with him, and Anna decides returns Barcelona to split of Guille, while he tries that she revokes her decision. According time moves to Sunday, the five will discover that the distances can change everything, even the own friendship between them.
