The World Is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die is an American indie rock band formed in Willimantic, Connecticut, in 2009. Following the release of several EPs and splits featuring original lead singer Thomas Diaz, they released their debut LP Whenever, If Ever in 2013 to generally positive reviews. Undergoing a series of roster changes, they proceeded to release a 2014 collaboration with spoken word artist Christopher Zizzamia titled Between Bodies, as well as several full-length records, including Harmlessness in 2015, Always Foreign in 2017, and their 2021 double album Illusory Walls.

The band's style has been variously associated with emo, indie rock, post-rock, post-hardcore, and space rock. AllMusic described it as "atmospheric emo/indie". Their influences include Battles, Caspian, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and Explosions in the Sky.

Pet Symmetry is an American emo band from Chicago, Illinois. The band formed in 2012, and they are currently signed to Storm Chaser Records. The band's name is a play on words taken from Stephen King's novel Pet Sematary.

Pet Symmetry was formed in 2012 by Erik Czaja and Marcus Nuccio (both members of Chicago-based emo band Dowsing) and Evan Thomas Weiss (who performs solo material under the name Into It. Over It.).

The band released its first EP, Two Songs About Cars. Two Songs With Long Titles. in May 2013 via Asian Man Records. It released another EP the same month, a split with Dikembe on Storm Chasers Records.

William Daniel McCafferty (born 14 October 1946) is a Scottish vocalist, best known as the lead singer for the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth from its founding in 1968 to his retirement from touring with the band in 2013. McCafferty continues to perform solo around the world and record on occasion.

McCafferty was born in Dunfermline, Scotland. Under the influence of artists such as Little Richard, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Otis Redding, he became one of the founding members of Nazareth in 1968. He has appeared on all of Nazareth's albums up to 2014 and has toured with them for 45 years. He co-wrote some of the big Nazareth hits, including "Broken Down Angel", and "Bad Bad Boy". He has released three solo albums. He is married and has two children.

Joyce Manor is an American punk rock band from Torrance, California, formed in 2008. The band consists of lead vocalist/guitarist Barry Johnson, guitarist Chase Knobbe, and bassist/backing vocalist Matt Ebert. Since their formation, the band have released six studio albums – the most recent of which, 40 oz. to Fresno, was released in June 2022. The band's sound is a mix of power pop, pop punk and emo, with Pitchfork describing the band as writers of "very short songs and spiked alt-rock melodies with day-drunk surrealism, like a SoCal Guided By Voices that exclusively drank alcopops."

Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties is the solo project of The Wonder Years frontman Dan "Soupy" Campbell. According to the project's Facebook page, it is defined as "a character study conducted through music". Campbell is taking on the persona of Aaron West. The album, We Don't Have Each Other, was released in July 2014 and the EP Bittersweet was released on May 20, 2016. Occasional singles were released by the group in between albums. Routine Maintenance is the second officially released album, on May 10, 2019.

Citizen is an American rock band from Southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio that formed in 2009. The band consists of three core members: Mat Kerekes (vocals) and brothers Nick Hamm, & Eric Hamm (bass). They are currently signed to Run for Cover Records, and have released four studio albums to date: Youth (2013), Everybody Is Going to Heaven (2015), As You Please (2017) and Life in Your Glass World (2021). Considered a part of emo's fourth wave, Pitchfork have described Citizen as "a band their fans can grow up with rather than out of."

The Hotelier is an American indie rock band from Worcester, Massachusetts, currently signed with Dreams of Field Recordings. The band's second album, Home, Like Noplace Is There, has been featured on Spin's "The 101 Best Albums of the 2010s" list and is considered an "essential emo album" by AltPress. The group has performed at the Pirate Satellite Festival, the Pitchfork Music Festival, and the Primavera Sound festival.

The Hotelier formed in June 2009 when lead singer Christian Holden met Chris Hoffman, Zack Shaw, and Sam Frederick while attending high school in Dudley, Massachusetts.

It Looks Sad. was originally formed as "It Looks Sad, That's Why I Said It's You", by Brett Green, Jimmy Turner, Lamont Brown, and Vince D’Ambrosio in early 2012. They released their first EP Welcome to Good Woods in May 2012 and their second EP Daughters Cottage in October 2012.

Petal is an American rock band from Scranton, Pennsylvania, currently signed to Run for Cover Records. The band consists of one permanent member, Kiley Lotz, with the rest of the band a rotating group of musicians.

Petal began in September 2013 with the self-release of an extended play titled Scout. The EP caught the attention of the record label Run For Cover, who signed them to their label three months later in December 2013. The EP was re-released after they signed to Run For Cover.

On September 1, 2015, Petal released the song "Sooner" from their debut album, Shame. Petal released their debut full-length album, Shame on October 23, 2015, via Run For Cover. On April 3, 2018, "Better Than You" was released as the first single from their second album, Magic Gone, which was released on June 15, 2018, also via Run For Cover.

Slaughter Beach, Dog is a rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania formed by Jake Ewald in 2014. Initially starting as one of Ewald's solo projects away from Modern Baseball, the group was realized after an indefinite hiatus of Modern Baseball was announced. The line-up originally featured vocalist and guitarist Jake Ewald, bassist Ian Farmer (also from Modern Baseball), guitarist Nick Harris (departed in 2020) from All Dogs, and former Superheaven drummer Zack Robbins.

The group had its beginnings as a solo project by Modern Baseball co-frontman Jake Ewald after encountering writer's block. Ewald released the project's debut EP Dawg in 2014, under the new moniker. He was soon signed with Lame-O Records, the label responsible for managing Modern Baseball. Under his new label, Ewald introduced his self-produced debut LP, Welcome, with generally positive reviews.
