Paulson was an indie rock band from Midland Park, New Jersey.

Paulson was formed in 2001. The band has released records on four different labels. Both Variations and All at Once have been released twice. The versions of All at Once do vary in production, track order, and songs. However Variations is simply a re-release of the original (due to Initial Records going out of business). Variations features an art punk sound and much experimentation, while All at Once showcases Paulson's melodic indie rock songs. Paulson had a strong DIY ethic, and has been played on MTVU. In 2008 the band disbanded due to troubles in following career paths outside of music.

Dr. Manhattan is an American rock band from Wauconda, Illinois. Their name is a reference to the character from Alan Moore's Watchmen comic books.

Brothers Matt and Adam Engers met Andrew Morrison and Nick Vombrack while they were all students at Wauconda High School. They first began playing together in 2005, and self-released an EP the following year. In 2007 they played the Warped Tour and signed with Vagrant Records, who released their self-titled debut in 2008. They appeared at The Bamboozle and played the Warped Tour again in 2008.

The music video for their first single, "Big Chomper, Big Chomper," was the winning freshman video for the week of August 25, 2008 on MTVU.com.

Paper Rival was an indie rock band formed in late 2005 from Nashville, Tennessee. Originally known as Keating, the band changed its name to Paper Rival in 2007 after a tour of Canada where the band was mistaken for a Canadian band who already possessed the name. In December 2007, Paper Rival was named Spin.com's "Artist of the Day". The band released its debut full-length album produced by Patrick Damphier, Dialog on May 20, 2008. The group cited artists Blind Lemon Jefferson, Merle Haggard and Bruce Cockburn (whose song "Pacing the Cage" was covered on their 2007 self-titled EP) as musical inspirations.

The band's songs are originally written acoustically with overdubs and extras added in afterwards.

The Dear Hunter is an American progressive rock band originating in Providence, Rhode Island. It began as a side project of Casey Crescenzo when he was a member of the Receiving End of Sirens, before becoming his main band in 2006. The band's sound features a wide variety of instruments and styles.

Person L is an American rock band fronted by Kenny Vasoli, of the pop punk band The Starting Line. Vasoli is the band's lead singer and guitarist and formed Person L in winter 2006 as an outlet to explore other musical styles. The group also consists of drummers Brian Medlin and Ryan Zimmaro, bassist Charles Schneider with keyboardist and guitarist Nate Vaeth.

Brand New was an American rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2000, the band consisted of Jesse Lacey (vocals, guitar), Vincent Accardi (guitar, vocals), Garrett Tierney (bass guitar, vocals) and Brian Lane (drums, percussion); they were joined by Benjamin Homola (percussion) for their live performances. From 2005 to 2013, the band also included Derrick Sherman (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards). The band is recognized as one of the most influential within the 2000s emo scene, celebrated for making artistic statements with their music.

Lacey, Tierney and Lane all played in the band the Rookie Lot, from Levittown, New York. Lacey was also the founding bassist for Taking Back Sunday before leaving. With Accardi in 2000, they formed Brand New in Merrick, New York. The band signed to Triple Crown Records and in 2001 released their debut album Your Favorite Weapon. Their second album, Deja Entendu, was released in 2003 and marked a stylistic change for the band, one that garnered an extremely positive critical reception. The album's first two singles, "The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows" and "Sic Transit Gloria... Glory Fades", both received airplay on MTV2 and Fuse TV, entering the top 40 on the United Kingdom Singles Chart. Deja Entendu was eventually certified gold in the United States.

Idiot Pilot is an alternative rock duo from Bellingham, Washington, consisting of Michael Harris and Daniel Anderson.

Foxy Shazam is an American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, (composed of lead vocalist Eric Nally, pianist Sky White, trumpeter and back-up vocalist Alex Nauth, bassist Trigger Warning, and drummer Teddy Aitkins). They were formed in 2004. The band released their debut album The Flamingo Trigger independently before signing with Ferret Music, under which they recorded their second album, Introducing. The following year, the band recorded its first major label record with producer John Feldmann. Foxy Shazam signed with Sire Records and released its self-titled major label debut in 2010. The band's fourth studio album, The Church of Rock and Roll, was released in January 2012. Gonzo, the band's fifth album, was released April 2, 2014. They announced in October 2014 they were disbanding for an unknown length of time. The band scheduled a reunion concert at the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 30, 2021, which sold out immediately. The concert was originally scheduled for April 11, 2020, but rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Wax on Radio was an American alternative rock band from Chicago, Illinois. Wax on Radio was created in 2004 when singer Mikey Russell, bassist Harrison Taylor, guitarist Bob Buckstaff, keyboardist Scott Heatherly, and drummer Sammy Del Real met in the tiny suburban Chicago music scene, in and around the towns of Schaumburg and Lake Forest. The fivesome, came together through the recommendations of mutual friends, when Russell put out the word that he was looking to start a new band.

Circa Survive is an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that formed in 2004. The band, led and founded by Anthony Green, consists of former members from This Day Forward and Taken.

Manchester Orchestra is an American indie rock band from Atlanta formed in 2004. The group is composed of rhythm guitarist-singer-songwriter Andy Hull, lead guitarist Robert McDowell, bassist Andy Prince and drummer Tim Very. Former drummer Jeremiah Edmond parted ways with the band in January 2010 to focus on his family and on running the band's record label, Favorite Gentlemen. The band's original bassist, Jonathan Corley, parted ways with the band in 2013. Keyboardist/percussionist Chris Freeman announced his departure from the band in September 2016.

Anthony Green is an American singer from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He is currently the lead singer of Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting, and L.S. Dunes, while also maintaining a solo career. He was previously in the bands Audience of One, Jeer at Rome, High and Driving, and Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer. Green is known for his distinctive, high vocal timbre.

Damiera was a four piece indie math rock band from Buffalo, New York that formed in 2005. They released two albums and an EP while touring around North America. The group disbanded in 2009

Damiera was formed in February 2005, by David Raymond and ex-guitarist/vocalist Matthew Kipp after the disbandment of their previous project, League. After a short while the two invited Bradley McRae, to join the line-up. Bassist Mark Henry, was added only a short while after. By late May 2005, the band had played a handful of shows, self-produced their debut EP "Damiera EP", and booked a two-month tour. Kipp left the band at the conclusion of Damiera's first tour to pursue different interests.

MewithoutYou, usually styled as mewithoutYou, was an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The band consisted of Aaron Weiss (vocals), Michael Weiss and Brandon Beaver (guitars), Greg Jehanian, and Rickie Mazzotta (drums). The band's music is generally dominated by spoken-word vocals and free-ranging drums, bass, and guitar.

The Sound of Animals Fighting is an American rock supergroup founded by Rich Balling of Rx Bandits. In the band's initial run, they released a trilogy of records between 2004 and 2008, and performed only four live shows, following their second release in 2006. The band's live lineup consisted of 12 different musicians. The band often employed the use of animal masks to conceal their identity. The group was inactive after 2009, with brief spurts of touring in 2014 and 2019, before announcing a new extended play and nationwide US tour in 2022.

The group performed only one small run of shows in Southern California and Las Vegas from August 24 to August 27, 2006. Matt Embree (Rx Bandits), Anthony Green (Circa Survive), Craig Owens (Chiodos), and Technology (Rx Bandits' Chris Tsagakis' side project) were the opening acts. Prior to the shows, it was difficult to envision which members would be performing at the live shows; Rx Bandits members Matt Embree, Steve Choi, Chris Tsagakis, and bassist Joe Troy were a few of the confirmed musicians. The band released a DVD documenting the shows entitled "We Must Become The Change We Want To See."

The Receiving End of Sirens was an American rock band from Belchertown, Massachusetts, United States. Formed in 2003, the band broke up in 2008 then briefly reunited in 2010. On February 18, 2020, the band announced a brief reunion tour.

Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground is an indie band started by Kirk Huffman and Kyle O'Quin of Gatsbys American Dream. Like Gatsbys, the band is influenced by a wide variety of musical genres. Though the band only has three official members, they have been known to perform with as many as 11 additional musicians on stage.
