Cardinal is a Canadian crime drama television series, currently in production for a scheduled debut on CTV in the 2016-2017. An adaptation of Giles Blunt's award-winning mystery novel 'Forty words for sorrow', the series stars Billy Campbell as John Cardinal and Karine Vanasse as Lise Delorme, detectives investigating the murder of a young girl.

A Vancouver-based murder has just occurred and been discovered. At the beginning of each episode, not only is the victim(s) identified to the viewer, but also the killer(s). The disparate group of Vancouver Homicide detectives, with help from the Coroner's office, must wade through the evidence which will lead them through the more-often-than-not less-than-straightforward path to discovering the killer(s) and his/her/their motive. Often the motive isn't fully understood by the detectives until they catch the killer(s). One of those detectives, quick-witted, acerbic-tongued Angie Flynn, often has the competing priority of raising her son Manny on her own.

An innovative look at the life of fictional Mafia Capo Tony Soprano, this serial is presented largely first person, but additional perspective is conveyed by the intimate conversations Tony has with his psychotherapist. We see Tony at work, at home, and in therapy. Moments of black comedy intersperse this aggressive, adult drama, with adult language, and extreme violence.

However, Patterson is keeping information from both Slaney and Williams which may jeopardize and both Slaney and Williams' participation in the case if either finds out, and which may also jeopardize Slaney's life at the hands of the authorities. Hearn, now based in Cancun, is embarking on a new partnership of his own with suppliers in Colombia following the DEA shutting down his US network. In the process, Slaney may find the draw back into the old life in joining forces with Hearn is stronger than the revenge he wants on him. In addition, others in Hearn's sphere may want more than just a small part of the spoils of the new Colombian deal.
