Krewella is an American electronic dance music band from the Chicago suburb of Northbrook, Illinois, United States, that formed in 2007. Their musical style has been mainly described as EDM, dance-rock, and dance-pop. However, Krewella's style has been influenced by a number of electronic sub genres, including progressive house, electro, dubstep, drum and bass, trap music and future bass.

Their debut EP, Play Hard, was released on June 18, 2012, exclusively on Beatport, followed by its release on other digital platforms on June 26, 2012. Later, their debut album, Get Wet, was released on September 24, 2013, on iTunes.

The band consists of sisters Jahan Yousaf and Yasmine Yousaf. Originally a trio, their third member and producer Kristopher Trindl left the band in 2014. The band's name stems from Jahan's misspelling of the word "cruel" when the two began writing music, and is not a reference to Cruella de Vil.

Blood on the Dance Floor was an American electronic music group from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2006. The group's longest standing lineup, from 2009 to 2016, consisted of Jesus David Torres also known as Dahvie Vanity and Jayy Von Monroe. The group released nine studio albums before breaking up in 2016 following Von Monroe's departure. It was reformed by Vanity the following year, initially with Fallon Vendetta. After Vendetta's departure, Vanity became the sole member of the group. Since 2019, Vanity has performed under the name Kawaii Monster and most recently the Most Vivid Nightmares.

Porter Weston Robinson is an American DJ, record producer, musician, and singer from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Robinson began producing music in his childhood. He signed to Skrillex's record label OWSLA at the age of 18, and released the extended play Spitfire in 2011. He appeared on Billboard's 21 Under 21 list in 2012.

Danny McCarthy is an American actor best known as Agent Danny Hale on Prison Break (2005–06).

He has acted in plays with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company and the Famous Door, and has performed twice at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. Other credits include The Amityville Horror, Early Edition, What About Joan, and Alleyball. McCarthy is an ensemble member at A Red Orchid Theatre in Chicago. McCarthy created, together with Alleyball writer/director Dan Consiglio, SOXTALK with Pat and Tony, a series of four 30-minute shows that aired on Comcast Sports Net Chicago. McCarthy starred as "Pat", a longtime know-it-all White Sox supporter.

Kiss is the second studio album by Canadian singer and songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen. It was released on September 14, 2012, by 604, Schoolboy and Interscope Records. After her debut, Tug of War (2008), which managed to achieve moderate success in Canada but was not released worldwide, Kiss became Jepsen's first internationally released album. Songs on the album are in the nu-disco, dance-pop, and teen pop genres, drawing inspiration from the Cars, Madonna and Robyn. Featuring production from a wide collection of producers including Dallas Austin, Josh Ramsay, and Redfoo, the album features guest vocals from Justin Bieber and Owl City.

Kiss was generally positively reviewed by critics. Critics praised Jepsen for her vocal performance, songwriting, and production. However, they deemed it immature content for her age, which was 26 at the time. The album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200, selling over 46,000 copies in its opening week and debuted at five on the Canadian Albums Chart. It also charted in numerous international markets. The album and its singles earned Jepsen two Grammy Award nominations including Song of the Year, as well as winning Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2013.

Nick Boundy, better known for his stage name M4SONIC ( EM-for-SON-ik), is an Australian electronic music producer, DJ and controllerist who was previously signed to Sony / Ultra Music. He co-produced (with Stargate) the Ylvis comedy rap song "The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)".

M4SONIC has toured the United States, Asia, Australia and Europe, performing at festivals such as TomorrowWorld, Life Is Beautiful, Stereosonic and the 2015 Warped Tour.

Dillon Hart Francis (born October 5, 1987) is an American electronic musician, actor, comedian, internet celebrity, record producer and DJ from Los Angelis, California.

Francis was born in Los Angeles, California to an American father and a Serbian-Croatian mother. Francis has stated that his father, Robert Drew Francis, is an "alternative medicines doctor." He has made a recurring Internet joke about being unable to find his father. Francis has stated that he was very sheltered growing up, claiming that he did not know any swear words until he was 15. He also claims he could not watch TV unless he watched at least two hours of Sesame Street a day.

Francis first rose to fame after gaining the attention of American producer Diplo and eventually collaborating on the song "Que Que", with featured Latin-pop artist Maluca. His song "Masta Blasta", originally a 130 BPM house track, was edited after inspiration from Dutch musician Munchi and eventually ended up as the moombahton track. In 2010, Francis released his Swashbuckler EP on Play Me Records. In 2012, he also released two singles "I.D.G.A.F.O.S." and "Bootleg Fireworks (Burning Up)". He has released works on multiple labels including Dim Mak Records, Mad Decent and Owsla.

Jeff Montalvo (born March 31, 1987), known professionally as Seven Lions, is an American DJ, record producer, instrumentalist and remixer from Santa Barbara, California. Active musically since 2010, his music combines styles as diverse as trance, melodic dubstep, drum and bass, glitch hop, and electro house. He has released eight EPs, multiple singles, and official remixes for record labels such as Casablanca Records, Owsla, Viper Recordings, Anjunabeats, Republic Records and Monstercat.

His second EP Days to Come was mentioned by Vibe Magazine as one of their Top Electronic Albums of 2012, and it peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Dance/Electronic Albums chart. His next EP, Worlds Apart, charted at No. 76 on The Billboard 200, and the EP's track "Don't Leave" with Ellie Goulding entered the UK Singles Chart in 2014. He tours regularly in the United States, and since 2012 has performed at festivals such as SXSW, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and Camp Bisco. He was nominated for America's Best DJ, a competition held by DJ Times, in 2014.

2-Step (auch 2-Step-Garage, Two-Step) ist ein Stil der britischen elektronischen Musik und Subgenre des UK Garage. Two Step vermischt funkige Breakbeats mit der Ästhetik von Garage House und Einflüssen von Dub.

Im Unterschied zum Vorläuferstil Speed Garage wird kein House-typischer 4-to-the-floor-Rhythmus, sondern 2-Step-Rhythmen eingesetzt. Obgleich solche auch in anderen Genres wie Drum and Bass verwendet werden, wurde der Stil nach diesem Rhythmus benannt.

Stilprägend ist der für Breakbeats ungewöhnliche, aber House-typische extreme Shuffle der Beats. Durch die im Gegensatz zu anderen Breakbeatstilen wie Drum and Bass unregelmäßige Verschiebung der Zählzeiten (siehe Synkope) – meist bei einem auch für House typischen 4/4-Takt in einem Tempo von ca. 130 BPM – entsteht der charakteristische Groove dieser Musik. Das Beatmuster kann folglich stark von dem oben angegebenen Grundschema abweichen.

Sonny John Moore, known professionally as Skrillex, is an American DJ and record producer. Growing up in Northeast Los Angeles and Northern California, he joined the post-hardcore band From First to Last as the lead singer in 2004, and recorded two studio albums with the band before leaving to pursue a solo career in 2007. He began his first tour as a solo artist in late 2007. After recruiting a new band lineup, Moore joined the Alternative Press Tour to support bands such as All Time Low and the Rocket Summer, and appeared on the cover of Alternative Press' annual "100 Bands You Need to Know" issue.

Kevin Nicholas Drew, better known as his alias KDrew, is an artist, producer and DJ from New Jersey. KDrew produces primarily EDM and is perhaps best known for his remixes for Zedd and Lady Gaga, although his original records "Bullseye" and "Circles" have generated millions of plays online.

The Boston Celtics of the NBA currently use "Circles" as the intro music for their home games at TD Garden. KDrew has also done official remixes for Nelly Furtado, Adventure Club, T.I. and others and collaborated with Taryn Manning on "Summer Ashes", which was released on July 23, 2013.

On February 5, 2015, MTV premiered KDrew's music video for "Let Me Go". KDrew performed at Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He co-wrote the song "I Want You to Know", by Zedd featuring Selena Gomez, alongside Zedd and Ryan Tedder. KDrew also features as an additional producer on the tracks "Done With Love" and "Straight Into the Fire" off Zedd's True Colors album. KDrew co-produced two songs on Hilary Duff's Breathe In. Breathe Out. album, "Confetti" and "Arms Around a Memory".
