A third year university student in Kyoto, Japan feels like he's wasted his first two years of University on his current student club, having not yet found a girlfriend and having made only two friends: Ozu, who he deems to not have a single redeeming quality as a human being and Ms. Akashi, a stoic first-year engineering student. One night, the protagonist encounters a deity of matrimony during dinner. He tells him that Ms. Akashi will end up paired with either him or Ozu and it's up to him to take the opportunity that is dangling in front of him or not.

Mononoke follows a wandering, nameless character known only as the "Medicine Seller". The series is composed out of 5 story arcs, each featuring the medicine seller as he tries to solve the mystery behind the existence of various Mononoke, evil spirits that still linger in the human world. He combats them using his vast knowledge of the supernatural, but a Mononoke can only be slain after he uncovers its form (Katachi), the truth behind its appearance (Makoto) and the reason for its unusual behavior (Kotowari).

Two ostensibly opposite women, both named Nana, become roommates in Tokyo and grow inseparable. However, their relationship is jeopardized as the harsh realities of adult life take shape.

N.H.K ni yôkoso! (Welcome to the N.H.K) revolves around the life of Tatsuhiro Satou, a 22 year old hikikomori who hasn't got a job and feels that the world around him is all a "conspiracy" controlled by the "N.H.K". He comes across a girl called Misaki Nakahara who is willing to change Satou's condition from being a socially awkward introvert into a more confident person.

Instead they resemble the primeval body of life and are generally known as "Mushi". Their existence and appearance are unknown to many and only a limited number of humans are aware of them. Ginko is a "Mushi-shi" who travels around to investigate and find out more about the "Mushi". This series is about a girl called Utena who was helped in a difficult time by a handsome prince. She was so impressed with him that she vowed to become a prince herself. She is attending a boarding school where she stands out with her gender bending ways and boy's uniform and makes friends with other students in school, most notably a bizarrely submissive Indian girl called Anthy. When one of her friends is publicly humiliated by her crush, Utena protests and is called out on a duel by the boy at a bizarre arena. With some difficulty, she wins and finds that Anthy is now "engaged" to her as the "Rose Bride" that is the key to a world revolution. Now, she finds herself forced to fight repeated challengers for Anthy, face similar rivalries in her personal life and tries to help Anthy gain some will of her own. All the while, the duels she must fight are leading her to a goal of world revolution that has implications she is not yet aware of.
