An old school building rumoured to be haunted is the place where a young woman was left to die. A freshman at the school, Niija Teiichi, stumbles upon the ghost of this woman and seems to be the only one that can see her. She can't remember the events that led up to her death and hence Niija decides to help her in discovering the cause.

Tanukichi Okuma is roped into joining an obscene terrorist organization bent on the destruction of everything that his new school stands for, the most prestigious public morals school.

The 16-year-old Izumi Shinichi lives with his mother and father in a quiet neighborhood in Tokyo. One night, worm-like aliens called Parasytes invade Earth, taking over the brains of human hosts by entering through their ears or noses. One Parasyte attempts to crawl into Shinichi's ear while he sleeps, but fails since he is wearing headphones, and enters his body by burrowing into his arm instead, taking over his right hand and is named Migi. Because Shinichi was able to prevent Migi from traveling further up into his brain, both beings retain their separate intellect and personality. As the duo encounter other Parasytes, they capitalize on their strange situation and gradually form a strong bond, working together to survive. This gives them an edge in battling other Parasytes, who frequently attack the pair upon realization that Shinichi's human brain is still intact. Shinichi feels compelled to fight other Parasytes, who devour humans as food, while enlisting Migi's help.

Okabe Rintarou, a university student who refers to himself as Crazy Mad Scientist Hououin Kyouma and his lab's members work on a microwave device that can transfer messages to the past. Without getting captured, they should get it working in order to beat the evil organization, SERN and stop their evil plans.

Honnouji Academy is forcefully ruled by the iron-fisted control of its student council and its president, Satsuki Kiryuuin. Transfer student, Ryuuko Matoi, arrives on campus carrying a giant sword, that is actually half of a scissor. She is looking for the woman who holds the other half of her sword who killed her father. It is said that Satsuki Kiryuuin knows the identity of the killer but when Ryuuko confronts her she is beaten by the student council and their powerful "goku uniforms" whom she cannot match in strength. Some people find religion, but for 16-year-old Godou Kusanagi, it's religion that's found him! As the result of defeating the God of War in mortal combat, Godou received the position of Campione, or God Slayer, whose duty is to fight Heretical Gods whenever and wherever they appear and start changing things to suit themselves, usually at the expense of the people in the area. Not only is this likely to make Godou begin his recognition in Heaven, it's also a job that comes along with a lot of other problems. One of the problems would be to deal with the fact that his enhanced status keeps attracting attention and difficult girls. In particular, the demonically manipulative sword-mistress Erica Blandelli, who strongly and extremely forwardly expresses her love for him, which usually creates awkward and misunderstood situations for him. (Campione is the Italian word for Champion. Everyone calls God Slayers Campione as the earliest known record describing the Campione was written by an Italian, hence the Italian form is used by everybody regardless of nationality.)

One of the most promising students of the Wizard academy takes a career assessment test and the results say that he'll become a demon king. The students treat him differently after this, but the female android is still in love with him.
