The Long Way Home is set on the outskirts of Kars in Eastern Anatolia in the winter of 1915 and takes us to the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Sarikamis. The film follows a group of seven people from different walks of life on their quest to escape the war zone and find a safe path back home....

Faruk Yazici (Erdal Besikcioglu) is the idealist governor of the Aegean city of Denizli, where a team of engineers from the Turkish Mining Exploration Institute (MTA) have recently discovered reserves of uranium. The governor joins forces with his childhood friend Omer Ucar (Ugur Polat), who heads the team of MTA engineers, in a fight against the beautiful and scheming bureaucrat Ceyda Aydin (Sebnem Donmez), who actually works to get mines in Turkey under the control of foreign companies. Interestingly, a number of unexplained murders are uncovered only a short while after the governor and the MTA engineers focus on the reserves in Denizli.

In 1950, amid-st the ravages of the Korean War, Sergeant Süleyman stumbles upon a half-frozen little girl, with no parents and no help in sight. Frantic, scared and on the verge of death, this little girl captures the heart of Süleyman, who risks his own life to save her, smuggling her into his Army base and out of harms way. Not knowing her name and unable to communicate with her, Süleyman names her Ayla, in reminiscence of the moon on the fateful night during which they met. The two form an instantaneous and inseparable bond, and Ayla, almost effortlessly, brings an uncanny joy to the Turkish brigade in the grip of war. As the war comes to a close however, Süleyman's brigade is told that they will be returning home. Süleyman cannot bear abandoning Ayla, and does everything within his power to take her with him. After repeated failure, he is forced to give Ayla to an orphanage, but doesn't give up on the hope of one day reuniting with her. Will the two ever get back together?

During the Sarikamis Battle, the Ottoman army runs out of ammunition and appeals to the people of Van for help, who happen to have supplies. However, the First World War is on and all men are fighting at four corners of the empire and therefore can not respond to to the appeal. The young children of Van want to do something. When the Principal of a school, who has lost a son in the war, suggests that the ammunition be transported to Sarikamis, 120 young boys aged 12 to 17 volunteer and take to the road. The movie tells the true story of the 120 boys and their sisters and mothers left behind, who wait for their return. The movie opens with a scene where and Armenian doctor goes to the house of a Turk whose son is sick, as he has done many times before. One of the boys does not like an Armenian doctor providing medical service to Turks, who, he believes are out to destroy the Turks. At the same time, the Armenian members of the Hunchaks in Van, who gather at a church and vow to join the invading Russian armies, threaten the Doctor and kill him as he leaves the sick boy's house.

Story based on the memoirs of Salih Bozok, which traces the life of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

A group of young high society friends, aged between 18 and 25, are gathered at a friend's bar that they frequent for the night. But when they finish off their last beer and prepare to head home they find themselves held captive at gunpoint by five strangers. Bound and gagged, they are tortured, raped, and murdered until the next morning. Yusuf Miroglu and his fiancee Zeynep goes to Diyarbakir to attend at the wedding of Cemal, who is his close friend from military service. Cemal gets killed by mysterious assassination during the wedding. Subsequently Miroglu begins to search for the suspected perpetrators of the incident and finds out there're plenty of terrorist groups who might be behind this assassination. Miroglu seeks help of his commander sergeant code named "Bozo" to solve the assassination and he confronts with more complicated problems in the region like drug and weapon smuggling. He is conspired by a retired Turkish army officer who works with terrorist groups while trying to understand what's going on in the region.
