A newly appointed coroner investigates a string of mysterious deaths in Toronto.

Officer Nick Beroff, 17 years of service for Montreal's police, is not happy to be stuck with Ben Chartier, newly transferred from S.Q (provincial police), as a partner, but after the tragic event that occurs in the first scene of the pilot, he will have to come to terms with the fact that together, they are now the second patrol of station 19. As the mystery around the catalytic event that starts off the series deepens, the everyday life of the policemen doesn't lack in action, tangled in emotional baggage and dirty secrets.

Cold Squad is a one hour police crime-drama made in Vancouver about a team of Vancouver police officers in charge of investigating and solving cases that have been in the "cold" file for a while, which basically means the police gave up on them because there were no leads.

A Vancouver-based murder has just occurred and been discovered. At the beginning of each episode, not only is the victim(s) identified to the viewer, but also the killer(s). The disparate group of Vancouver Homicide detectives, with help from the Coroner's office, must wade through the evidence which will lead them through the more-often-than-not less-than-straightforward path to discovering the killer(s) and his/her/their motive. Often the motive isn't fully understood by the detectives until they catch the killer(s). One of those detectives, quick-witted, acerbic-tongued Angie Flynn, often has the competing priority of raising her son Manny on her own.

After an embarrassing and public breakdown, Detective Aidan Black (David Sutcliffe) is reassigned from his beloved SWAT team to the newly created Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit. There, he's dismayed to find his partner is not another cop, but forensic psychiatrist, Dr. Daniella Ridley (Stefanie von Pfetten). The unit also includes Detective Poppy Wisnefski (Luisa d'Oliveira) and psychiatric nurse Leo Beckett (Dayo Ade), with Inspector Diane Caligra (Karen LeBlanc) keeping a close watch over the unique partnerships. Passionate and opposing viewpoints are an inherent part of the job in Psych Crimes, and the answers the teams seek never come easy. Aidan's deep insight and investigative skills combine brilliantly with Daniella's keen ability to decipher human behaviour. Learning to work cohesively, the Psych Crimes and Crisis Unit investigates city's most troubling and psychologically complex crimes. Whether or not the unit is still around in a few months... is completely up to them.

These two beat cops patrol the urban sprawl of downtown's 19th district, in cruiser No. 2. 19-2 is about the tensions and bonds that develop between two incompatible men of very different temperaments and life experiences. Over time, Nick and Ben's mistrust and antagonism for each other give way to moments of mutual respect and a wavering chance at a true partnership. As Season 1 progresses, we also get to know the tight-knit squad of 19. We see friendship and enmity, loyalty and betrayal. The series delivers in portraying the unpredictability and fragility of the world of a beat cop through moments of life-threatening intensity to its characters, both on and off duty, cementing 19-2 as a powerful character study and a gripping police drama.

Jimmy Reardon and Mary Spalding head their respective organizations, Mary as Director of the Organized Crime Unit, Jimmy the boss of his family's organized crime business. Unexpectedly, Mary successfully recruits Jimmy to act as her star individual in the OCU's underground intelligence network on organized crime. However, it's a two-way street as she needs to provide Jimmy with inside information on police knowledge of his businesses. Both Mary and Jimmy need to tread lightly in their relationship while they try and maintain a grip hold on their respective businesses.

Vancouver City Coroner Dominic Da Vinci is an ex-police officer who brings his police mentality into his current job. Da Vinci is opinionated which has caused him to make many friends but also many enemies along the way of his professional career path. Although he has the admiration of most that work with him, especially a very loyal secretary, Helen, he also often butts heads with even his most ardent of supporters in the Coroner's Office and the Homicide Department of the Vancouver Police Force. These include his bosses, the homicide detectives and the pathologists, one of whom is his ex-wife Patricia. Da Vinci, the staff at the Coroner's Office and the Homicide Department work together to try and undercover some of the mysteries surrounding the deaths that take place in Vancouver. Da Vinci tries to balance his professional life with his personal life, which includes taking care of his teen-aged daughter with whom he has joint custody with Patricia. More often than not, he is unsuccessful in making this balance, the personal life marred by womanizing ways and a drinking problem.
