Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band's lineup—brothers Joe and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu, and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass)—has been the same since the band changed its name to Gojira in 2001. Gojira has been known for their progressive and technical death metal styles and their spiritual, philosophical, and environmentally-themed lyrics. The band has gone "from the utmost obscurity during the first half of their career to widespread global recognition in the second".

Fleshgod Apocalypse is an Italian symphonic death metal band. Formed in 2007, the group resides in Perugia and are currently signed to Nuclear Blast. They have released five full-length albums.

Black Crown Initiate is an American extreme metal band from Reading, Pennsylvania, United States, currently signed to Century Media. The band formed in 2012 and self-released their first EP Song of the Crippled Bull, which was met with positive reviews. They began touring in early 2014 with fellow extreme metal bands such as Goatwhore, Behemoth, and 1349; this led to them being signed by eOne Music in June 2014. With eOne, they released both The Wreckage of Stars, released on September 30, 2014, and Selves We Cannot Forgive, released on July 22, 2016. Their third studio album, Violent Portraits of Doomed Escape, was released with Century Media on August 7, 2020.

En octobre 2016, Pestifer annonce la mort du chanteur Olivier « Morty » Putz.

Skeletonwitch is an American metal band from Athens, Ohio, formed in 2003. The band currently consists of lead guitarist Nate Garnette, rhythm guitarist Scott Hedrick, bassist Evan Linger, and vocalist Adam Clemans. Original vocalist Chance Garnette was fired from the band sometime in late 2014, or early 2015. In early 2018, drummer Dustin Boltjes left the band as well after a 7-year tenure. Jon Rice, formerly of Job for a Cowboy, is currently substituting on drums for live performances.

Cynic is an American progressive metal band formed in Miami, Florida in 1987 and later re-formed in Los Angeles, California in 2007, where the sole surviving member, Paul Masvidal remains to this day. Cynic incorporates elements of progressive rock, alternative, and metal.

Necrophagist was a German technical death metal band founded and fronted by guitarist and vocalist Muhammed Suiçmez. The band used baroque music-influenced compositions paired with extreme metal drumming.

The name originates from the Greek roots νεκρο- nekro- ("dead body") and -φαγος -phagos ("eater of"). This figuratively translates to eater of the dead; literally the eater of dead bodies.

Necrophagist's debut album Onset of Putrefaction has been out of print for years. The percussion on the album was handled by a drum machine. Eventually, a new edition with drum samples recorded by Hannes Grossmann was created. All of the old guitar, bass guitar and vocal tracks were mixed along with the brand new drum samples. The re-release also features two songs from Necrophagist's 1995 self-titled demo tape. The whole album was also engineered by long-time Necrophagist engineer and producer Christoph Brandes at The Iguana Studios. It was mastered by Bob Katz at "Digital Domain", Orlando, Florida. The re-release was issued in 2004 by Willowtip in the United States/Canada and Relapse in the rest of the world. In August 2001, Necrophagist performed at the Brutal Assault open air festival in the Czech Republic. The band also returned to perform in the years 2003, 2005 and 2010.

Martyr was a Canadian death metal band from Trois-Rivières, Québec. Their musical style consisted of mostly progressive use of melodics and variations of thrash and death metal influences.

Formed in 1994 by brothers Daniel (guitar, vocals) and François Mongrain (bass), along with Pier-Luc Lampron (guitar) and François Richard (drums), Martyr recorded a demo tape in September 1995 titled Ostrogoth. In September 1997, the drummer François Richard left the band being replaced by Patrice Hamelin, the full-length debut Hopeless Hopes was self-released in November that same year.

Martyr independently released their second album, Warp Zone, in 2000. Lampron had left the band and was replaced on the guitar by Martin Carbonneau.

Gorod is a technical death metal band from Bordeaux, France.

Gorod formed in 1997 under the name Gorgasm. They released their debut album Neurotripsicks on Deadsun Records in 2004. The band changed their name to Gorod in 2005 to avoid confusion with an American death metal band also named Gorgasm, after which they re-released their debut album on Willowtip Records in 2005.

Since the name change, Gorod have released six full-length studio albums, most recently Aethra, released October 2018. Gorod have enjoyed increasing popularity since their inception, taking part in the Maryland Deathfest in the United States.

Beyond Creation is a Canadian technical death metal band from Montreal, Quebec. They are currently signed to Season of Mist records. The group has released three studio albums to date: The Aura (2011), Earthborn Evolution (2014), and Algorhythm (2018). They have toured extensively in Europe, the United States and Japan, supporting bands such as Obscura and Dying Fetus, while headlining tours alongside acts such as Revocation, Psycroptic and Virvum.

Soreption is a technical death metal band from Sundsvall, Västernorrlands län, Sweden. Formed in 2005, they are best known for their fast melodies and sharp, groovy riffs. In 2013, Soreption was chosen among a list of acts selected to perform at The Summer Slaughter Tour. They also played a few shows on the 2018 edition of Summer Slaughter until August 7, when they were forced to cancel all future dates on the tour due to visa issues. Soreption was also forced to drop Suffocation's Death Chopping North America for the same reasons. They have released one EP and four full-length albums.

In 2014, after the release of their album Engineering The Void, bass player Rickard Persson left the band and was replaced by Mikael Almgren of technical metal band Terminal Function. In December 2016, guitarist Anton Svedin left the band and was replaced by current bassist Mikael Almgren. Kim Lantto of Facial Abuse and Festering Remains joined as the new bass player. In 2019, the song "A Mimic's Ignorance" appeared in the Netflix show On My Block .

Abysmal Dawn is an American death metal band from Los Angeles, California.

Meshuggah is a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Umeå in 1987. The band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist Jens Kidman, guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake and bassist Dick Lövgren. Since its formation, the band has released nine studio albums, six EPs and eight music videos. Their latest studio album, Immutable, was released in April 2022 via Atomic Fire Records.

Jeff Loomis is an American musician, best known for his role as lead guitarist in the progressive metal band Nevermore during its existence from 1991 to 2011, as well as brief tenures in its precursor, Sanctuary. In 2014, he joined Swedish melodic death metal band Arch Enemy, and in 2021 he joined Graham Bonnet's Alcatrazz as well. As a solo artist he has released two albums and one EP.

Fallujah is an American technical death metal band from San Francisco, California, formed in 2007. Fallujah has toured with acts such as The Black Dahlia Murder, Carnifex, Thy Art Is Murder, Dying Fetus, Between the Buried and Me, and The Contortionist.

Fallujah was founded in early 2007 by high school friends Alex Hofmann, Scott Carstairs, Tommy Logan, Dan Wissinger, and Suliman Arghandiwal. The band name comes from the Iraqi city of Fallujah, located in the Al Anbar province. Prior to the band signing to its first record label, early vocalist Suliman Arghandiwal, guitarist Anthony Borges, and bassists Dan Wissinger and Brandon Hoberg exited the band. Replacing Arghandiwal, guitarist Alex Hofmann took up vocals with Rob Maramonte joining the band as the new guitarist. In 2009, the band released their first demo release, immediately followed by their first EP titled Leper Colony released on January 17. On February 5, 2010, the band played their first professional concert in Sacramento, California.

Spawn of Possession was a Swedish technical death metal group, which formed in 1997 in Kalmar. The band have collectively released three studio albums. A fourth album was planned, but in 2017 the band announced their split up.
