Two old french countrymen are living a quiet life in their little old farms. The first one, Claude Ratinier, aka "le Glaude" (Louis de Funès), is a widower, and the second one, Francis Chérasse, aka "Cicisse" (Jean Carmet), is single. They spend their days drinking liters of wine and pastis, reminding themselves the good old times. One evening, they happen to start a farting contest, which seems to provoke a lightning storm... Then they go to sleep, but somebody has been quite interested by their kind of expression, and is preparing to change their life...

Brice, a motherless super rich 30-year-old teenager fancies himself a trendy surfer. Only he never stepped out of Nice where the sea remains desperately calm and flat. Brice awaits a giant wave like the one he knows happened in 1979. In the meantime, what he lacks in technique he successfully hides and compensates in style. He first decides to find out about that thing called "work" (one of his friends does it) at a local restaurant, but then decides robbing a bank is way easier. While escaping after a failed attempt, he meets Marius who needs money for foot surgery. His new best buddy has an idea how to get it: all it takes is for Brice to win the $100,000 prize at the "world underground surf cup". It would "completely" help if Brice had surfed at least once in his life.

Don Salluste, a petty tyrant in his own home and minister of the King of Spain, falls from grace. Wanting revenge, he tries to compromize the Queen with his valet Blaze, introduced as his cousin. But poor Blaze gets stuck with a rather repulsive duenna, who is madly in love with him and very keen on getting her way. This wild comedy takes off at a dashing pace set by the De Funes, Montand and Sapritch trio.

In this Franco-Italian gangster parody, a shop keeper on his way to an Italian holiday suffers a crash which totals his car. The culprit can only compensate his ruined trip by driving an American friends car from Napels to Bordeaux, but as it happens to be filled with such contraband as stolen money, jewelry and drugs, the involuntary and unwitting companions in crime soon attract all but recreational attention from the "milieu".

Holidaymakers arriving in a Club Med camp on the Ivory Coast are determined to forget their everyday problems and emotional disappointments. Games, competitions, outings, bathing and sunburn accompany a continual succession of casual affairs.

The gang is back, with Eddie, Dov, and Yvan still in the textile industry and working in Paris' Sentier district. After an umpteenth problem with an independent retailer who can't cover the cost of merchandise, they decide to aim for the guaranteed safety of a large distribution contract with an established chain. Eventually, they do make it big, striking a deal with Eurodiscount, a European hypermarket chain (combination supermarket and department store). However, their joy dissipates as Eddie and Yvan quickly learn who dictates the rules when dealing with a large chain. Meanwhile, Dov, chased out of his home by his wife, Karine, after yet another extramarital affair, leaves with Patrick for California, hoping to strike a business deal there, and Serge, now a struggling delivery man, falls in love with a young girl from a good family whom he fools into believing that he's wealthy by taking over his cousin Patrick's home and belongings during his absence, and by spending the mob's money, which Serge is supposed to launder. Things go from bad to worse and the business is lost, until Eddie discovers that his bankruptcy goes beyond the mere commercial failure and that he was the victim of a scandalous swindle perpetrated by the heads of Eurodiscount. From then on, he decides to take revenge and conceives a plan that will mobilize and re-group the gang, giving Serge an important role that may let him pay off his debts and win the heart of his inamorata.

A RAF Bomber is shot down over Paris by the Germans. Its crew land there by parachute. With the help of some French civilians they try to escape over the demarcation line into the southern part of France, still not occupied by the Germans.

In this riot of frantic disguises and mistaken identities, Victor Pivert, a blustering, bigoted French factory owner, finds himself taken hostage by Slimane, an Arab rebel leader. The two dress up as rabbis as they try to elude not only assasins from Slimane's country, but also the police, who think Pivert is a murderer. Pivert ends up posing as Rabbi Jacob, a beloved figure who's returned to France for his first visit after 30 years in the United States. Adding to the confusion are Pivert's dentist-wife, who thinks her husband is leaving her for another woman, their daughter, who's about to get married, and a Parisian neighborhood filled with people eager to celebrate the return of Rabbi Jacob.

Three half-brothers are reunited at their mother's funeral. After being told of their inheritance they quickly spend the money, only to find out that they will not receive it after all. The men grow closer while deciding how to proceed.
