Seoul-based playboy Young-Soo learns that he is suffering from cirrhosis of the liver and his life is quickly worsening. Seeking rest and relaxation, he admits himself into a countryside clinic, where he meets Eun-Hee, who has a severe lung disease. Smitten with Young-Soo, Eun-Hee approaches the new resident. They fall in love with each other and move into a small house together. Suffering from serious illnesses and having no money, just how happy can they be, and for how long?

Tae-il is a low-level thug who goes around the streets of his neighborhood in Gunsan, collecting debts for a loan shark and harassing shop owners for the protection money owed to the small gang he works for. He writes a new contract and offers it to her: He will exempt her from the debt if she goes on date with him. The more dates she goes on, the less debt she will have to pay off. Ho-jung rejects his offer at first, but knowing that she is unable to make the payments at any cost, she reluctantly agrees. As they start to go on awkward "dates," an unlikely romance blossoms between the two. Following his prolonged courtship, Tae-il tries to leave the gang life behind him, but the break isn't clean. Unfortunately he is soon diagnosed with cancer and his relationship with Ho-jung is suddenly thrown into jeopardy

To wiggle herself out of the situation without adding another crime to her rap sheet, she uses the skills of her profession and cons everyone into believing indeed she's the one. Meanwhile, Hee-chul returns home without having proposed to his girl for lack of a ring, and finds that his family, and in fact the whole town, now scorn him for his desertion of an innocent woman.

Meanwhile, Young-mi begins looking for an apartment near her work. With the help of a producer, Young-mi finds an apartment where a former co-worker from the station used to live. In the apartment is an old, abandoned computer that the co-worker used to use. On the computer, Young-mi finds an unsent email, with the Subject line: The Letter I Could Not Send - a sad tale of unrequited love. Touched by the tragic letter, Young-mi vows to help the woman who wrote it, just as the mysterious DADDY LONG LEGS once helped her. But, to Young-mi's great heartache, she soon discovers that the man her former co-worker loves is Jun-ho. Young-mi had solemnly promised herself to help this woman any way she could, but her love for Jun-ho is growing, too...

Yu-jeong reluctantly agrees. Yu-jeong and the death row inmate do not open up to each other immediately. Yu-jeong comes from a wealthy family and is a professor at a university. Yet, she has never known happiness since the age of 15 as a result of a sexual assault at the hands of her cousin. The inmate that she meets, named Yun-soo (Kang Dong-won), has had an even more traumatic childhood experience. He was abandoned by his parents at an early age and has had to live on the streets while caring for a younger brother. Eventually Yun-soo ends up involved in the criminal world and gets convicted for murder. With their disparate backgrounds, Yu-jeong and Yun-soo are still able to connect with each other, because both people have encountered grief like few others could possibly know. As they both regain the will to live through their weekly meetings, they must now deal with their feelings for each other and come to grips with the short amount of time they have together.[5][6]
