Humming Urban Stereo (Korean: 허밍 어반 스테레오) is a South Korean electropop band. The group was founded on February 15, 2004 in Seoul by Lee Jeereen. The band consists of Lee and (mostly female) guest vocalists. Lee "sings, writes, composes, and arranges [the] music." The most common guest vocalists are Shina-E and Humming Girl, who are considered part of the band.

Humming Urban Stereo's first album was Very Very Nice! and Short Cake, released in January 2005. Its most popular song, "Hawaiian Couple", a top ten hit that reportedly sold over 500 000 downloads, came from the band's second album, Purple Drop, released in March 2006. Hawaiian Couple was also featured in the film My Love, a popular 2007 South Korean romantic comedy, directed by Lee Han.

Glen Check is a South Korean indie band, consisting of singer and guitar player June-One Kim and bass and synthesizer player Hyuk-Jun Kang. They debuted in February 2011 with the release of Disco Elevator EP and were joined by drummer Jeon-Yeol Ryu for their first full album, Haute Couture, which was released in February 2012. Ryu left the group later that year, and (once again a duo) Glen Check released the five-track EP Cliché that September. In November 2013, a sophomore album was released, called Youth! In August 2017, the band released a new five-track EP called The Glen Check Experience. The band has also released several remix EPs.

Kim and Kang first met while attending high school together and after graduating, they formed a band called The Closure. Soon after though, they decided to take a different approach to their music, which Kim has described as having been "quiet and boring". They changed the band's name to Glen Check, after reading the term in a fashion book. Both Kim and Kang grew up outside of Korea. The lyrics to their songs are in English. While the duo have cited Western music as being an influence on them, they were also inspired by African music and traditional Korean music on their album Haute Couture. For Cliché, they looked to funk and disco music from the 1970s and 1980s for their inspiration. Many different genres have been used to describe their music, including electropop, electro-rock, synthrock and indie-dance-pop. The duo has said that they do not want their sound to be limited though, and that they plan to experiment in many different styles. The band places an emphasis on the visual aspects of their live shows and have been noted for their stage design. Glen Check and its crew of collaborators are collectively known as The Basement Resistance.

10 cm (Korean: 십센치) was a South Korean duo. The band consisted of two members: Kwon Jung-yeol and Yoon Cheol-jong. The name of the band, 10 cm, refers to height difference of the two core members. Since its debut in 2010 with the release of 10cm The First EP, the band has been a rookie among other Korean bands. The band won "This Year's Discovery Award" at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and "Best Pop Song Award" at the 2011 Korean Music Awards.

Kwon Jung-yeol was the main vocalist in the group and played the jembe, a type of percussion played with bare hands while Yoon Cheol-jong played the guitar. In 2017 it was announced that Yoon Cheol-jong would leave the band after deciding not to renew his contract due to health concerns. In July 2017 he admitted use of marijuana.

못(영어: Mot)은 대한민국의 록 밴드이다. 밴드 이름인 못은 연못을 뜻하며, 못의 로고는 연못 지(池)를 활용해 삼수변과 알파벳 Z를 합한 모양이다. 이이언과 지이로 구성된 남성 2인조 밴드였으나 지이가 탈퇴 후 이이언 1인체제가 되었다가, 3집 <재의 기술>에서 네 명의 연주자를 새로 영업하며 5인조가 되었다.

1996년부터 이언이 밴드를 구상하며 원맨 프로젝트 형태로 작곡 활동을 하던 중 2001년 지이가 이이언이 인터넷에 낸 광고를 보고 밴드에 합류하여, 2004년 6월 비선형(Non-Linear)앨범으로 데뷔하였다. 원래 이이언은 1인 밴드 형식으로 작업해 왔으나 지이를 만나 보컬에 전념하고 작업을 분화하기 시작했다.

못은 데뷔 앨범 발매 후 곧 장윤현 감독의 2004년 영화 《썸》의 사운드트랙 작업에 참여했는데, 스코어 작곡과 연주를 맡아 조영욱 음악 감독과 함께 작업하였다. 이 외에 변영주 감독의 2004년 영화 《발레 교습소》에서도 사운드트랙 작업에 참여하였다.

이이언의 성대결절로 작업을 쉬던 중 지이가 탈퇴하였다. 그 이후로 못은 활동 없이 이이언의 솔로 활동만 이어갔다. 그리고 3집에서는 그동안 이이언의 솔로활동에서 세션을 맡은 네 명의 연주자를 새로 영업하였다. 2011년부터 이이언과 함께한 조남열과 유웅렬, 2013년부터 함께한 이하윤과 송인섭이 합류하며 못은 5인조 풀밴드 체제로 재정비되었다.

The Korean Music Awards is an annual South Korean music awards show that honors both mainstream and underground musical artists from a variety of genres. Unlike other major South Korean music awards, which largely rely on record sales to determine winners, the Korean Music Awards distributes awards based on the recommendations of a panel of judges consisting of music critics, radio show producers, academics, and other professionals within the industry. The first Korean Music Awards was held in 2004.

The event currently has approximately 20 categories, including the Musician of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and genre awards in pop, rock, modern rock, metal & hardcore, folk, dance & electronic, hip hop, R&B & soul, and jazz & crossover music.

검정치마(The Black Skirts)는 대한민국의 인디 록 밴드이다. 2004년에 미국 뉴욕에서 3인조 펑크 록 밴드로 처음 결성하였고 현재는 싱어송라이터인 재미교포 조휴일이 유일한 멤버로 원맨 밴드이다.

검정치마는 2008년 11월 13일 첫 정규 음반 《201》을 발매하면서 한국에서 공식으로 활동을 시작하였고, 《201》은 제7회한국대중음악상에서 '최우수 모던 록 음반' 부문을 수상하였다. 2011년 7월 13일 두 번째 정규 음반 《Don't You Worry Baby (I'm Only Swimming)》을 발매 하였다. 2013년 5월 3집 음반을 준비하며 단독 콘서트 및 여러 큰 페스티벌 공연을 하면서 활동하고 있다.

검정치마의 앨범들은 현재까지 총 약 5만장 이상 팔렸다.

검정치마는 3인조 펑크 록밴드로 2004년 뉴욕에서 처음 시작하였다. 그 당시엔 조휴일 외 2명의 다른 뮤지션들과 함께 시작하였고, 현재까지 조휴일을 중심으로 많은 멤버 바꿈이 있었다. '검정치마' 라는 밴드 이름은 조휴일이 "단지 어감이 좋아서" 만든 이름이고, 다른 특별한 뜻은 없다고 한다. 검정치마 조휴일은 13살의 어린 나이에 가족과 함께 미국으로 이민을 갔다. 비록 미국에서 자랐지만 어릴적부터 대한민국 홍대 음악 씬에 아주 관심이 많았다고 한다. 그는 미국 버클리 음대를 다니다 중퇴하였고, 'Castel Prayon'이란 이름으로도 활동하였다. 또한 애리조나-인디애나-뉴욕-뉴저지 등 미국 여러 도시들을 전전하며 외국인 친구들과 밴드 활동을 했다고 한다. 그 후 그러던 어느날 그는 2007년 한국에 큰 꿈을 가지고 들어와 '쌈지사운드페스티벌'의 '숨은 고수'에 지원했으나 아쉽게도 마지막 관문에서 탈락하였다. 그가 나중에 인터뷰에서 뒤돌아 보며 말하길, "사실 2007년 한국에서 실패한 후에는 무척 억울했어요. 그래서 앨범이라도 남기자는 심정으로 미국 현지 친구들의 도움으로 음반을 만들어서 국내에 들어왔는데 다행히도 좋은 반응을 얻게 된거죠." 이때 인디 레이블 루비살롱이 그를 눈여겨봤고, 그가 미국으로 돌아가 만들어온 앨범 201을 이듬해인 2008년 국내 발매하게 되고 큰 인기를 얻게 되면서 한국 인디 홍대 씬에서 정식으로 활동하기 시작하였다.

Crying Nut (Korean: 크라잉넛) is a punk band from South Korea. They are often credited as being pioneers of the Korean punk and indie rock scenes.

캐스커(영어: Casker)는 대한민국의 음악 그룹이다. 록 밴드의 기타 연주자로 활동하던 이준오가 1999년 테크노 컴필레이션 음반 《techno@kr》 에 참가하면서 활동을 시작했다. 2003년 첫 정규 음반을 발매했으며, 2집부터는 새로운 멤버 '융진'이 가입해, 2집 이후 이준오, 이융진 2인조로 활동 중이다.

We Are The Night (Korean: 위아더나잇) is a South Korean indie rock band that debuted in 2013. The group consists of members Ham Byeong-seon (vocals), Jeong Won-jung (guitar), Hwang Seong-su (bass), and Kim Bo-ram (drums). The group has released two studio albums, We Are The Night (2013), and Vertigo (2019), as well as three EPS, Star, Fire, Night and Such Things (2015), The Green Ray (2016), and Calm Myself Down (2017).

The Born Loser is a newspaper comic strip created by Art Sansom in 1965. His son, Chip Sansom, who started assisting on the strip in 1989, is the current artist. The strip is distributed by Newspaper Enterprise Association. The Sansoms won the 1987 National Cartoonists Society Humor Comic Strip Award and the 1990 Newspaper Comic Strip Award.

Art Sansom created The Born Loser after spending 20 years churning out the illustrations on his syndicate's serious strips. He originally titled it The Loser, but under the urging of the syndicate, renamed it The Born Loser. The dailies started May 10, 1965 while the Sundays premiered on June 27. Initially, the strip had no recurring characters but now focuses on the Thornapple family and the few people in their lives.
