Chandler Smythe, a reporter, is killed be a demonic-looking gang member. He awakens in a police interrogation room and is offered the chance to join "the Corps," a group of heavenly agents who struggle against the Faustians (folks who make a deal with the devil) and Morlocks (what the Faustians become when their deal falls through). He teams up with Henry MacNeil, a black man from the 70's. Together they travel the streets of Hollywood (a center of demonic activity, naturally), fighting evil.

"Uncle Martin" looks human, except when he extends his retractable antennae with which he can become invisible. His special powers and unusual illnesses present a constant challenge to Tim in his efforts to preserve his friend's cover.

Gary Wallace and Wyatt Donnelly create their dream woman, Lisa, on their computer. Lisa has extraordinary powers and can grant the boys their wishes for short periods of time.
