Yoshimori and Tokine are just your average kids go to the same school and they also happen to be neighbors. During the day they go their separate ways but at night they both have to go protect the land of Karosumari. A job passed down to them from generations of Kekkaishi in both of their families. The families are 'rivaling' but the two of them get along just fine. At night Yoshimori and Tokine with their demon dogs Hakubi and Madarao, do their best to rid the land of evil. But everything isn't always so simple.

Set in 2001, Part V follows Giorno Giovanna, son of Dio, and his ambition to rise within the Neapolitan mafia by subverting its most powerful gang: Passione.

Based on the American cartoon, "The Powerpuff Girls", Professor Utonium and his son Ken are studying the strange Chemical X. When a mochi cake falls into the formula, it changes into Chemical Z. Ken fires a ray of Chemical Z at a glacier in Tokyo Bay, however that causes strange black and white lights to scatter. The black lights turn its victims into monsters, with emphasis on a black light hitting a zoo monkey and transforming him into Mojo Jojo. The white lights, however, aim at three normal girls, Momoko, Miyako, and Kaoru. This gives them the power to transform into superheroes, the Powerpuff Girls Z!

Doremi is the main star of the show, for it was her who caused her friends, Aiko and Hazuki to become witch's apprentices as well. Doremi claims to be "the unluckiest bishoujo in the world", so she hopes to one day learn magic, because she thinks it'll make her life easier. She stumbles across the Maho Dou (Magic Hall) one day and calls a woman by the name of Marika (her actual witch name is Majorika) a witch. Because she called out a witch as a witch, she must now train under Majorika's advisory and pass all her witch's exams to meet her goal of becoming a full-fledged witch.

Ahiru (literally 'Duck' in Japanese), is a young girl in a junior high school's beginner ballet program. She's prone to stammering and clutziness. She has a huge crush on her senpai, Mytho, a melancholy young man who doesn't speak much. Ahiru discovers that Mytho is actually the prince out of a story written by the mysterious Drosselmeyer. When Drosselmeyer died, the prince and the evil crow that were battling in his novel escaped. The prince defeated the crow, but only at the expense of shattering his own heart. Mytho is a boy without feeling or understanding. Drosselmeyer, however, has somehow returned, and has offered Ahiru a chance to help Mytho. She must become Princess Tutu, a magical ballerina, and help reclaim the pieces of her prince's heart. There is a catch, of course--Mytho is being controlled by his roommate Fakir, also a dancer, who seems to want to keep the boy soulless and heartless. Drosselmeyer also told Ahiru that a certain dream she's been having is real. She really is just a little duck, and has been transformed into a girl only so that she can become Princess Tutu. If she starts stammering-- quacking like a duck-- she'll turn back into one.

In Feudal Japan, Half-Demon twins Towa and Setsuna are separated from each other during a forest fire. While desperately searching for her younger sister, Towa wanders into a mysterious tunnel that sends her into present-day Japan, where she is found and raised by Kagome Higurashi's brother, Sota, and his family. Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a Demon Slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa's shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister. Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past.

It is at this time that vampires emerge from the recesses of the earth, likely followed by age-old horrors of the dark thought only to be myth. The vampires sweep the earth and claim it in a single violent stroke, subjugating the remnants of humanity and leading them beneath the surface to safety. This "protection" comes at the price of donating blood to their captors. At the age of twelve, Yuichiro and his friend and fellow orphan Mikaela plotted to escape along with the children in Hyakuya Orphanage. However, this resulted in their deaths and Mikaela sacrifices himself in order for Yuichiro to escape and be saved by members of the Moon Demon Company, an extermination unit of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army. Four years later, Yuichiro dedicates his life to destroy vampires and seek revenge against them for murdering his "family".
