In the late 19th century, Tess Durbeyfield is sent off to visit a rich cousin, Alec D'Urberville, when her parents learn that they are distantly related. Tess takes a disliking to the man and his attempts at seduction are rebuffed. Returning from a village party he forces himself on the innocent girl who eventually makes her way back to her parents' home. Ashamed and pregnant she seems destined to forever being marked a certain kind of woman. After the death of her child, she makes her way to a prosperous farm where, working as a milkmaid, she meets and eventually marries the handsome Angel Clare. On learning of her past however, he abandons her and with little choice and facing a life of extreme hardship, again falls into Alec's clutches and becomes a kept woman.

The extended Forsyte family live a more than pleasant upper middle class life in Victorian and later Edwardian England. The two central characters are Soames Forsyte and his cousin Jolyon Forsyte. Jolyon is the opposite, a free-thinking artist who abandons his wife to live with his children's nanny. 'La otra mirada' begins in Seville during the year 1920 with the arrival of Teresa to the Academy of young ladies, who comes fleeing the mysterious murder of the Spanish ambassador in Lisbon and has a very different way of seeing things. Teresa, played by Patricia López Arnaiz, is a character with a lot to hide and a woman ahead of her time who flees from a mysterious past. The episodes of this series focuses on reflecting the history of each of the protagonists, adult women and young people full of illusions and courage that face certain problems still in force in society. Recorded between Madrid and Seville, it has spectacular natural exteriors that recreate the city at that time. On the other hand, Manuela, interpreted by the actress Macarena García, is the new director of the Academy. Continuing with the cast, Cecilia Freire interprets Ángela, another teacher at the center and Ana Wagener at Luisa, the most veteran teacher. 'La otra mirada' brings the female world closer to the viewer with strong characters that reflect times in which change began to be present and addresses issues such as bullying, abuse, the discovery of sexual identity, machismo, conciliation or the wage gap, among others.

Velvet is a Spanish television series (English subtitles available on Netflix). It takes place in the 50's / 60's and displays the beautiful clothing and cars from that era. The main storyline of the show is the business decisions surrounding the continuation of the fashion store and the steamy love story of Alberto, heir of Galerías Velvet, and Ana (Paula Echevarría), who works as a seamstress there.
