The Inbetweeners
2012
After leading a relatively sheltered life in private school up to this point in his life, fastidious and straight-laced briefcase-carrying Will Mackenzie faces a new reality when, following his parents' split, he is forced to attend public school for the first time in his life in his senior year. He sees it somewhat as an opportunity to insert himself among the popular kids, which he was not at private school. However, out of circumstance, he ends up in a social circle of four who are neither the social outcasts, but are nowhere near being popular. He and his new friends get into one misadventure after another in their inbetweener status. Jay Cartwright is the big talker, whose friends know his stories of sexual conquests are all made-up fantasy. Neil Sutherland is clueless to things happening around him. And Simon Cooper, who becomes Will's best friend, often makes bad choices in his primary mission to get Carly D'Amato, a childhood friend and one of the popular kids, to be his girlfriend.

Andy Richter Controls the Universe
2002
Andy is a short story writer, who makes his living by working at a huge faceless company in present day Chicago, writing Technical Manuals. In his active, fertile, writer's imagination, we see (and hear as he narrates) the stories of his daily life, as they should be, could be, might be, and even actually how they are. Andy shares his office with the company's newest employee, and Andy's newest friend, the frail, jumpy, odd, loveable Byron. Also inhabiting Andy's world is his best friend Keith, who is "so good looking" that Andy must fight his own "prejudice against the 'attractive,' who seem to get everything they want, unlike ordinary humans." Supervisor Jessica is also Andy's longtime friend and uses her lightening sharp tongue to keep the group out of, or at times, to get the group INTO trouble. The newer receptionist Wendy (Irene Molloy, "Grosse Pointe"), whom Andy first had a crush on, is dating Keith (somewhat proving Andy's "Attractive Theory").

Secret Girlfriend
2009
The running joke in "Secret Girlfriend" is that the camera is the view of the main character -- who never speaks. People turn to him and address him to move the plot along. The view normally cuts so we never hear his reply. Mandy, his psycho girlfriend breaks up with him regularly but then decides for one last sexual encounter so their relationship is in flux. He meets Jessica who seems perfect, but he puts off actually dating her for fear of Mandy's reaction. His two best friends, Phil and Sam, are constantly trying to create the next Internet happening and these attempts to film Backyard Wrestling or whatever is the other element of each episode's plot.

Sons of Tucson
2010
Sons of Tucson is a family comedy about three brothers who hire a charming, wayward schemer to stand in as their father when their real one goes to prison. What begins as a business relationship evolves into something more complex and compelling: a family unlike any we've ever seen. The three brothers find their dad-for-hire, Ron Snuffkin (Tyler Labine), at the local sporting good store. Ron will be forced to draw on a wide array of skills and a vast bag of tricks as he steps into the patriarch role to take care of the boys of the Gunderson family. Robby Gunderson, 8, is a loose cannon who doesn't respond well to authority; Gary Gunderson, 11, is a bright and street-savvy leader who is every bit the con man his father is; and Brandon Gunderson, 13, is a gentle free spirit who simply goes along for the ride. Maggie Morales (Natalie Martinez), Robby's second-grade teacher and the object of Ron's affection, might just be the only stable figure in the lives of this quirky quartet. While Sons of Tucson is grounded in the day-to-day challenges of a single-parent home, nothing in the Gunderson household is quite what it seems. An ongoing chess match between Ron and the boys will keep both parties on their toes, as neither side can afford to give up too much power or independence.
