Saint Vitus is an American doom metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. They are considered to be one of the first doom metal bands, and have been labeled as one of the "big four" of that genre, along with Candlemass, Pentagram and Trouble. Having released nine studio albums to date, Saint Vitus never achieved a popular breakthrough, but have exerted great influence on the development of doom metal, sludge metal, and stoner rock.

Yob is an American doom metal band from Eugene, Oregon, composed of singer/guitarist Mike Scheidt, bassist Aaron Rieseberg, and drummer Travis Foster. Their most recent studio album Our Raw Heart was released in June 2018.

Serpent Throne was an American instrumental stoner/doom metal band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, that formed in 2005. The band has released four studio albums: Ride Satan Ride released in 2007 on the label Season of Mist, The Battle of Old Crow in 2009 on Vessel Records, White Summer•Black Winter in 2010 on Translation Loss Records, and Brother Lucifer in 2013 on Prophase Music.

Jex Thoth is a doom metal band from Madison, Wisconsin signed to the Swedish record label I Hate Records. Since 2007 they have released two full-length studio albums, three EPs and a split with Pagan Altar. They have toured Europe every year from 2010–2018.

Goatsnake is an American stoner/doom metal band from Los Angeles, California. They have released three studio albums, the first being 1999's Goatsnake Vol. 1.

Goatsnake was formed in 1996 after the disbanding of The Obsessed. After The Obsessed's disbanding, the rhythm section consisting of bassist Guy Pinhas (also former of the Dutch Beaver) and drummer Greg Rogers began jamming with guitarist Greg Anderson (Thorr's Hammer, Burning Witch, Sunn O)))). They soon found a vocalist in Pete Stahl (Scream, Wool, Earthlings?, The Desert Sessions).

Goatsnake recorded and released two 7" EPs in 1998 and were featured on several metal compilations. They released their debut full-length, 1, in 1999 on Man's Ruin Records/Rise Above Records.

The Obsessed is an American heavy metal band from Potomac, Maryland, led by Scott "Wino" Weinrich. The band combines elements of doom metal, stoner rock, and punk rock. Formed in 1980, they recorded a few demos and played a handful of live shows until they first split up in 1986 when Weinrich joined as lead vocalist for Saint Vitus, but reformed four years later. After releasing three albums, the Obsessed broke up for a second time in 1995. After briefly reuniting for some shows in 2012 and 2013, the Obsessed announced their third reunion in March 2016.

Witchcraft is a Swedish doom metal band founded in 2000.

Magnus Pelander (formerly of Norrsken) formed Witchcraft in 2000 in order to record a tribute to Pentagram's Bobby Liebling and Roky Erickson. The "No Angel or Demon" single was released in 2002 by Primitive Art Records, which caught the attention of Lee Dorrian's label Rise Above Records, who quickly signed them. A year later, the band were brought back together with Jonas Arnesén taking the place of original drummer Jens Henriksson, and his brother Mats taking Ola's place on the bass.

Their debut album, Witchcraft (2004), was worked on in a basement studio with vintage equipment, which gave them their very seventies-esque sound. Mats Arnesén left the band almost immediately after the recording was done. Arnesén was also the drummer in the surf trio "The Hollywoods" and 50s style rockers "Eva Eastwood and the Major Keys". In mid-2004, the band toured Europe with Orange Goblin and Grand Magus.

Reverend Bizarre was a doom metal band from Finland. Formed in 1995, they played slow and heavy traditional doom with dramatic vocals, following in the footsteps of bands such as Saint Vitus, Pentagram and Black Sabbath. The band was one of the biggest names in the fourth wave of traditional doom metal.

According to Albert Witchfinder, the band had planned three more full-length albums, after their second album – titled Songs from the Funereal World, Heavier Than Life and How It Was Meant to Be – but this plan was scrapped and the band made only one more LP, disbanding Reverend Bizarre "before it started to suck." The album, III So Long Suckers, was recorded in the first half of 2007, and released in August of that year. The band's last concerts were played during the autumn and winter of 2006 culminating in a final performance in Turku.

Suma Kanakala (née Pallassana Paachuveettil; was born on 22 March 1974) she is an Indian television presenter, actress, and television producer who predominantly works in Telugu television. She is best known for hosting ETV's Star Mahila – a Telugu TV game show, which is the longest-running TV game show in India and ran for almost 12–15 years (until 2021).

Suma was born on 22 March 1974 in her native hometown of Palakkad, Kerala, India. Her parents are Pranavi Narayanan Kutty Nair and Pallassana Paachuveettil Vimala, who were in Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh (now in Telangana), India for a very long time because of the father's government job transfer over there. Their only daughter Suma was born 10 years later after her parents’ marriage as the only child for them. As a six-month old baby, she along with her parents flew to Secunderabad where she was brought up near Lalaguda & Mettuguda railways. She married Tollywood actor, Rajeev Kanakala on 10 February 1999. That’s why she’s known as Suma Kanakala in the Tollywood industry, otherwise Kerala culture would take up mother surname as well as their property to their children. They have two children- one son named Roshan Karthik Kanakala (b. 2000) & Snehanaswini Kanakala (b. 2005). In addition to her mother tongue of Malayalam, she is fluent in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and English.

Serpentcult were a Belgian doom metal band active between 2006 and 2011. They released one EP, Trident nor Fire (2007), and two full-length albums, Weight of Light (2008) and Raised by Wolves (2011).

Weedeater are an American stoner metal band formed in Wilmington, North Carolina in 1998. The group's most recent album, Goliathan, was released on May 19, 2015.

Valkyrie is an American doom metal band from Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Church of Misery is a Japanese doom metal band from Tokyo, formed in 1995. Church of Misery's musical style melds early Black Sabbath-style doom with psychedelic rock; most of the band's songs are about serial killers and mass murderers.

High on Fire is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California, that was formed in 1999. Matt Pike, the band's frontman and founder, also plays guitar for doom metal band Sleep. High on Fire won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance with their song "Electric Messiah".

High on Fire was founded in 1999 by Sleep guitarist Matt Pike, drummer Des Kensel, and bassist George Rice (from Dear Deceased, who originally auditioned to be the band's vocalist). The band's first full-length album The Art of Self Defense was released on 12th Records, and released later on Man's Ruin Records. (The album would later be re-released by Tee Pee Records, with two bonus tracks, as Man's Ruin Records had become defunct.)

The Gates of Slumber is an American doom metal band from Indianapolis, Indiana. The group is better known in Germany and England than in their native United States. Their first release distributed within the U.S. was 2008's Conqueror, released on Profound Lore Records.

The band was formed by Karl Simon in 1997 as The Keep with himself on vocals and bass, Jason McCash on guitar, and Chuck Brown on drums. The band released two demos, then McCash and Brown left in 1999. Simon switched to guitar, and renamed the band The Gates of Slumber. In 2000, he recruited bassist Dr. Phibes and drummer Jamie Walters. However, personality and commitment clashes led to Phibes and Walters leaving the band, leaving Simon to bring in Brad Elliott and Chris "The Fist" Gordon as replacements. This lineup was also short-lived and the original lineup of Jason McCash and Chuck Brown replaced Elliot and Gordon on bass and drums, respectively, in 2003.

Place of Skulls is an American doom metal band from Knoxville, Tennessee.

Doom Shall Rise was a doom metal festival. It was held annually at the Chapel in Göppingen, Germany, from 2003 to 2013.

Sleep is an American heavy metal band from San Jose, California. Guitarist Matt Pike and bassist and vocalist Al Cisneros have been the only constant members throughout its history, with several changes of drummers throughout their history. Critic Eduardo Rivadavia describes them as "perhaps the ultimate stoner rock band" and notes they exerted a strong influence on metal in the 1990s. The band first gained attention with their second album, Sleep's Holy Mountain (1992). However, conflict with the band's record company contributed to Sleep's breakup by the end of the decade. Sleep's third album, Dopesmoker, was released after the band's dissolution. The band reformed in 2009 and has played sporadic live dates internationally since. In 2018, Sleep surprise-released their comeback album, The Sciences, on Third Man Records, to critical acclaim.
