'Bharat' is a journey of a man and a nation together. At the cusp of India's birth as an independent nation, a family makes an arduous journey to freedom. However, this freedom comes at a cost. An eight-year-old boy, Bharat, makes a promise to his father that he will keep his family together no matter what--a promise that he keeps over the next 60 years of his life, despite each decade throwing a new set of challenges at him--some humorous, some thrilling, some romantic, and some life-threatening. His resilience, loyalty and a never dying spirit mirror the fundamental qualities of our nation--Bharat. Interestingly, the movie is an official adaptation of Korean film 'An Ode to My Father (2014), which depicted modern Korean history from the 1950s to the present day through the life of an ordinary man.

In 2010 Arjun Shergill is on a mission to capture a terrorist Rehman Gul where he saves a young suicide bomber but captures Rehman Gul.12 years later while traveling in a flight Arjun meets an air hostess Ayesha and falls in love with her both are about to take their relationship further but a terrorist attack at the airport kills Ayesha leaving Arjun badly injured.Arjun is then left bound to wheel chair with only movement in his neck through news channels he finds that the attacker is Hamid Gul son of Rehman Gul whom he had saved 12 years back.The Indian intelligence chief Subramanium comes with the idea to introduce super soldiers operated by robotic means in Indian Army to save loss of lives during cause of war which are designed by Dr. Sabaha Qureshi.Subramanium chooses Arjun for this mission but while getting introduced to this process his chances of survival are minimal.Arjun manages survive the process and turns a super solider who operates with command of IRA designed by Sabaha.

The story is set seven years after the events of the last film.

Vidyut Dev Singh Jammwal (born 10 December 1980) is an Indian actor, martial artist and film producer who predominantly works in Hindi films. He is also a practitioner of Kalaripayattu. He is best known for his roles in Commando film series, and is recipient of several awards including one Filmfare Award.

He made his Telugu debut with Sakthi, Hindi with Force and Tamil debut with Billa II, all in negative roles. His first lead role was in the successful film Commando. He went onto appear in various films including Anjaan, Thuppakki, Baadshaho, Commando 2, Junglee, Yaara, Commando 3 and Sanak.

Vidyut Jammwal was born in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. He is one of three children born to an Army officer and lived in various parts of India (owing to his father's transferable job) and trained in Kalaripayattu in an ashram in Palakkad, Kerala which was run by his mother, since he was three years old. He traveled to many countries training with martial artists in various forms, some of which find their base in Kalaripayattu. Jammwal travelled to over 25 countries, where he performed in live action shows.

Major Hanut Singh is haunted by his past where he was injured badly in a terrorist attack and lost his colleague when they were close to completing a mission.The state of Gujarat has just calmed due to on going riots but a terrorist organization led by Aby Hamza plans to attack a temple in order to free their leader Bilal Naikoo.The terrorists enter the temple and start cross firing and killing who ever comes on their way but further they get orders from Abu Hamza to hold the civilians as captive and demands the government to free their leader Bilal Naikoo or every hour there will be a blood shed.Major Hanut Singh along with his team of NSG commandos decides to lead the mission but his senior's ask him to back out when he does not follow the orders leading to cross firing between the terrorists and NSG Commandos.
