Meute (Eigenschreibweise: MEUTE) ist eine elfköpfige Techno-Marching-Band aus Hamburg. Die Band arrangiert Techno-, House- und Deep-House-Werke von bekannten DJs neu und setzt die elektronischen Beats mit den Instrumenten einer Blaskapelle um. Meute tourte bisher auf drei Kontinenten, Europa, Amerika, (südliches) Afrika und trat an verschiedenen Orten, von Gigs auf Straßen bis hin zu Musikfestivals und klassischen Konzertsälen, auf.

Meute wurde 2015 auf Initiative des Trompeters Thomas Burhorn gegründet. Ihren Durchbruch hatte Meute im Frühjahr 2016, als ihr Video zum Song Rej vom Berliner DJ-Duo Âme durch die sozialen Medien zum viralen Hit wurde. Mehr als 400.000 Aufrufe konnte Meute innerhalb von einer Woche mit dem YouTube-Video zu ihrer Interpretation des Deep-House-Songs, inmitten des Hamburger Schanzenviertels, erzielen.

Marathon Artists is a London-based independent record label founded by Paul-René Albertini, Philippe Ascoli and Jimmy Mikaoui in 2012. The label also runs its own publishing and management divisions. Artists on the label include Courtney Barnett, Pond, Hazel English, Childhood, Max Jury, Sonia Stein, Jamie Isaac, Tiny Ruins, Baaba Maal, Shock Machine, Afro B, Alaskalaska and Jen Cloher.

Marathon Artists is also home to imprint labels House Anxiety, MOVES and Mahogany Records.

House Anxiety launched in 2008, with releases from King Krule to Forth Wanderers, Childhood to The Big Pink. As of 2018, the label both developed future Marathon Artists signings, as well as maintained its own roster of artists.

Leyya ist ein österreichisches Elektropop-Duo aus Eferding, das heute in Wien ansässig ist. Die Band wurde mit zwei Amadeus Austrian Music Awards ausgezeichnet: 2017 mit dem FM4 Award (Amadeus-Verleihung 2017) und 2018 in der Kategorie "Best Alternative" (Amadeus-Verleihung 2018).

Nach der Veröffentlichung einer ersten EP (Drowning In Youth) erhielt die Band Anfang 2015 mit der Single Superego auch außerhalb ihrer österreichischen Heimat erste größere Aufmerksamkeit. Für das in diesem Umfeld erschienene Debütalbum "Spanish Disco" wurde die Band bereits 2016 für den Amadeus Austrian Music Award in der Kategorie „Alternative Pop/Rock“ und für den FM4-Award (der ebenfalls im Rahmen des Amadeus Austrian Music Award verliehen wird) nominiert. Angesichts des wachsenden internationalen Interesses erschien im Frühjahr 2016 eine erweiterte Version des Albums mit den Bonustracks Butter und Worthy sowie Remixes.

Lucy Rose Parton (born 20 June 1989) is an English singer-songwriter and musician who performs as Lucy Rose. Her debut album, Like I Used To was released in 2012. Rose released her second album, Work It Out, in 2015 on Columbia Records. Her third album, Something's Changing, was released in 2017 on Communion Records.

Born in Camberley, Surrey, England. Rose's musical origins began with her playing drums in her school orchestra; her songwriting started with her writing tunes on her family home's piano. She is the youngest of three sisters. She later bought a guitar from a shop she passed on the way to school, taught herself and began writing material at around the age of sixteen. Rose never played her material for anyone until she left home after completing her A-levels.

Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music was a 1981 Broadway musical revue written for and starring American singer and actress Lena Horne. The musical was produced by Michael Frazier and Fred Walker, and the cast album was produced by Quincy Jones. The show opened on May 12, 1981, and after 333 performances, closed on June 30, 1982, Horne's 65th birthday. Horne toured with the show in the U.S. and Canada and performed in London and Stockholm in 1984.

Agar, or agar-agar, is a jelly-like substance consisting of polysaccharides obtained from the cell walls of some species of red algae, primarily from ogonori (Gracilaria) and "tengusa" (Gelidiaceae). As found in nature, agar is a mixture of two components, the linear polysaccharide agarose and a heterogeneous mixture of smaller molecules called agaropectin. It forms the supporting structure in the cell walls of certain species of algae and is released on boiling. These algae are known as agarophytes, belonging to the Rhodophyta phylum. The processing of food-grade agar removes the agaropectin, and the commercial product is essentially pure agarose.

Jonathan Owen Bree is a singer-songwriter and producer from New Zealand, best known for his work as a solo artist, as well as co-founding the indie pop group The Brunettes, in 1998 and Lil' Chief Records, in 2002. He frequently collaborates with label-mates as a musician, engineer, and record producer.

Jonathan Bree was born in New Zealand. Mark Lyons, frontman of indie pop band The Nudie Suits, was both Bree's cousin and a mentor in Bree's formative years. When Bree was ten, Lyons introduced him to Modern Lovers, with Bree becoming a long-term fan. At 12 years old, Bree first played live (and recorded) as the drummer in Lyons' band, The Plaster Saints.

The Brunettes were formed in Auckland in 1998 by Bree and Heather Mansfield. According to Bree, "My cousin had recorded her band Yoko and I thought she had a great natural voice, no silly effected delivery. I was looking for a girl to sing on some duets I had written so I tracked down her number." The band independently released its first recording Mars Loves Venus EP in 1998.

Michelle Gurevich is a Canadian singer-songwriter, also known by her former stage name Chinawoman. Her music is influenced by her Russian heritage, and has been described as slowcore rock and "lo-fi pop". Her largest fanbase is in Eastern Europe.

Gurevich was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Russian-Jewish immigrants and was raised with Russian as her first language. Her father was an engineer in Soviet Leningrad and her mother a Kirov ballerina (the subject of Gurevich's "Russian Ballerina"). Gurevich originally wanted to become a filmmaker and worked ten years in the industry before turning to music. "I eventually tried to write a song and found it was not only cheaper but much easier to get a good result."

J. Bernardt is a side project of Belgian musician Jinte Deprez, which he launched in 2016 when his band Balthazar took a break. His debut album Running Days was released in 2017, and includes contributions from Adriaan Van De Velde on synths and drummer Klaas De Somer. The album is a blend of different styles, including R&B, soul, hip hop, and electronica.

Charline Mignot, dite Vendredi sur Mer, née le 20 avril 1995 à Genève, est une chanteuse et photographe suisse.

Charline Mignot grandit en Suisse romande avant de faire une école d'art à Lyon. Elle commence sa carrière en tant que photographe, travaillant notamment avec Hermès. Puis elle décide de se lancer dans la chanson,, à la suite de sa rencontre avec Paul Andrieux, son manager. Elle adopte alors le pseudonyme de Vendredi sur Mer souhaitant allier une certaine poésie à la dimension du voyage :

« Je voulais un nom qui invite au voyage, à la poésie, à la rêverie, explique-t-elle. Et puis, la mer reste le meilleur endroit à mes yeux pour puiser son inspiration (surtout par temps de pluie). »

Lowlands 2014 (voluit: A Campingflight to Lowlands Paradise) is een Nederlands muziek- en cultuurfestival dat op 15, 16 en 17 augustus 2014 plaatsvond in Biddinghuizen. Het was de 22e editie van het Lowlandsfestival.

Vergeleken met voorgaande jaren was deze editie van Lowlands laat uitverkocht. De voorverkoop van de 55.000 toegangskaarten ging om 1 februari van start en op 13 mei waren alle kaarten verkocht. Het festival kreeg dit jaar kritiek te verduren door de verhoogde entreeprijs en parkeerkosten. Lowlands-directeur Eric van Eerdenburg gaf aan dat de prijzen van de bands zelf steeds hoger liggen, omdat er steeds meer festivals bij komen.

Nilüfer Yanya (; born 11 May 1995) is an English singer, songwriter and musician.

Yanya is the daughter of two visual artists, her mother is of Irish and Barbadian heritage and her father is Turkish. Yanya grew up in Chelsea, London listening to Turkish music and classical music playing at home. She gravitated to guitar rock and learned how to play the instrument at the age of 12.

Informally starting her musical career with demos uploaded to SoundCloud in 2014, Yanya turned down an offer to join a girl group produced by Louis Tomlinson of One Direction and focused on developing her own music instead. She has spoken out against this model of talent acquisition, telling The Guardian “‘Let’s go and pinch some young people, tell them we’re going to make a really successful group but we’re obviously going to make a lot more money than them.’ It’s a very selfish thing to do.” The project was reportedly abandoned after a year.
