Kirby Krackle is an artistic convention in superhero and science fiction comic books and similar illustrations, in which a field of black is used to represent negative space around unspecified kinds of energy. Kirby Krackles are typically used in illustrations of explosions, smoke, the blasts from ray guns, "cosmic" energy, and outer space phenomena.

Logan Anthony Whitehurst, was an American musician. His career began as the drummer for the band Little Tin Frog from 1995 until 2000, although he is best known as a founding member of Californian indie rock band The Velvet Teen and as a solo artist performing under the name Logan Whitehurst and the Junior Science Club.

Paul and Storm are an Arlington, Virginia-based comedic musical duo consisting of Paul Sabourin and Greg "Storm" DiCostanzo. They are best known for their humorous songs about geek culture and for amassing an internet fan base.

They are favorites of Dr. Demento and regular radio guests on The Bob and Tom Show. They tour regularly with Jonathan Coulton, singing backup vocals for a number of his songs. Coulton has also appeared on stage to do backup for Paul and Storm's songs.

For 12 years Sabourin and DiCostanzo were one half of the a cappella comedy band Da Vinci's Notebook. When that group went on their "Moxy Früvous-style hiatus," in 2004 the two struck out on their own, with Paul playing keyboard and penny whistle and Storm on the guitar.

Alfred Matthew "Weird Al" Yankovic ( YANG-kə-vik; born October 23, 1959), known professionally as "Weird Al" Yankovic, is an American singer, musician, and actor who is known for humorous songs that make light of pop culture and often parody specific songs by contemporary musical acts. He also performs original songs that are style pastiches of the work of other acts, as well as polka medleys of several popular songs, most of which feature his trademark accordion.

Since having a comedy song aired in 1976, Yankovic has sold more than 12 million albums (as of 2007), recorded more than 150 parodies and original songs, and performed more than 1,000 live shows. His work has earned him five Grammy Awards and a further 11 nominations, four gold records, and six platinum records in the U.S. His first top ten Billboard album (Straight Outta Lynwood) and single ("White & Nerdy") were both released in 2006, nearly three decades into his career. His latest album, Mandatory Fun (2014), became his first number-one album during its debut week.

Robert Howard Cantor (born August 26, 1983) is an American singer-songwriter and creator of multiple viral videos. He is best known as the yellow-tied vocalist and guitarist of indie rock band Tally Hall.

Cantor is also known for his solo work as a comedy musician and viral video creator, particularly from the song "Shia LaBeouf", in which actor Shia LaBeouf is depicted as a cannibalistic serial killer. His other work has included a solo album titled Not a Trampoline, and another viral video, "29 Celebrity Impressions, 1 Original Song".

Cantor was born and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He attended Andover High School, where he met future Tally Hall member Zubin Sedghi and future collaborator Zach Krasman. In 2002, when attending University of Michigan, he formed Tally Hall with Sedghi and musician Andrew Horowitz. He majored in molecular biology, with a minor in nonprofessional music. He graduated in 2005, and turned down a full scholarship to medical school in order to pursue music full-time with Tally Hall.

Jonathan William Coulton, often called "JoCo" by fans, is an American folk/comedy singer-songwriter, known for his songs about geek culture and his use of the Internet to draw fans. Among his most popular songs are "Code Monkey", "Re: Your Brains", "Still Alive" and "Want You Gone". He was the house musician for NPR weekly puzzle quiz show Ask Me Another from 2012 until its end in 2021.

Trocaderois an experimental rock band formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1997. The band's current lineup consists of Nico Audy-Rowland, Brandon Erdos, Violet Heart, and Martha Marin. Trocadero got its name after a subway stop in Paris. The band is best known for their contribution to the soundtrack of the web-seriesRed vs. Blue. Nico Audy-Rowland had discovered the show in 2003 and sent the creators a song, "Blood Gulch Blues", which would end up becoming the show's opening theme.

The band's debut album,Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, was released on 01 Sep, 2004. Their latest album, the soundtrack to Season 14 ofRed vs. Blue, was released in 2018. Nico Audy-Rowland was also involved in the Uggos, a collaboration with Jeff Williams that created the music forThe Strangerhood, another Rooster Teeth series.

No More Kings are the Los Angeles-based musical collaboration of singer/songwriter Pete Mitchell and producer/songwriter Neil Robins. No More Kings' music is known for its frequent references to figures in pop culture, most notably Johnny Lawrence from The Karate Kid, Michael and K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider, Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, and Dungeons and Dragons. The band's songs are written by Mitchell along with his longtime friend Neil Robins of the Louisville-based band Dirt Poor Robins.

Garfunkel and Oates is an American comedy–folk duo operating out of Los Angeles, California, consisting of actors and songwriters Riki Lindhome (Garfunkel) and Kate Micucci (Oates). The band name is derived from "two famous rock-and-roll second bananas", Art Garfunkel and John Oates.

The two met at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, where they were introduced to each other by comic Doug Benson. The duo was formed when they started working together to adapt Imaginary Larry, a short film made by Lindhome, into a musical. Although the duo started in California, both of its members are originally Pennsylvanians: Lindhome from Coudersport and Micucci from Nazareth.

In February 2009, the Garfunkel and Oates song "Fuck You" (reworked as "Screw You") was featured in the Scrubs episode "My Lawyer's in Love", which featured Micucci in a supporting role.

Whitehurst was also an accomplished graphic designer, creating numerous album covers for bands such as his sister's Tsunami Bomb, in addition to Dynamite Boy, Little Tin Frog, The Velvet Teen, 20 Minute Loop, Go Time, Shut Up Donny, Santiago, and labels such as Fearless Records, Restitution Records, Silent Records and Entertainment, and Double Helix Records. He also contributed illustrations and comics such as "Jonathan Quimby, the Boy with No Brain" to Section M Magazine.

Hard 'n Phirm was a comedy/parody musical duo based in Los Angeles. The members are Chris Hardwick and Mike Phirman. They began performing at UCLA in 1994, but broke up in 1997, to reform 7 years later. After the success of their song "Rodeohead" (a bluegrass-style medley of covers of Radiohead songs), they released their first and only album to date: Horses and Grasses. The album includes the song "Pi," which gained popularity from its music video, which was directed by Keith Schofield.

In 2008, the duo aired their own special for Comedy Central Presents, which included performances of "American Dinosaurs", "Anything", a reprise of "Pi", and included the unreleased song "Not Illegal" as well as their performance art piece "Def Poetry Spam". In 2007 they appeared on the comedy compilation Comedy Death-Ray. In February 2008, the group won the Effinfunny.com Comedian of the Year Award. Phirman also voiced the character Narrator's Brother in the WordGirl episode "Mecha-Mouse".

Jim's Big Ego is a Boston, Massachusetts-based band formed in 1995 under the leadership of singer/songwriter Jim Infantino, who was named as the best new artist of 1995 by the National Academy of Songwriters.

Among the band's songs are "The Ballad of Barry Allen," about the DC superhero Barry Allen/The Flash, a character co-created by Infantino's uncle Carmine Infantino; “Asshole”, a song about the George W. Bush administration that went viral, and "New Lang Syne" (sometimes also called "Thank God It's Over"), a new New Year's Eve song featured on National Public Radio's All Things Considered in 2001.

John Linnell (16 June 1792 – 20 January 1882) was an English landscape and portrait painter and engraver. Linnell was a naturalist and a rival to John Constable. He had a taste for Northern European art of the Renaissance, particularly Albrecht Dürer. He also associated with William Blake, to whom he introduced Samuel Palmer and others of the Ancients.

Linnell was born in Bloomsbury, London. His father was a carver and gilder and Linnell was brought into contact with artists from an early age, and was drawing and selling portraits in chalk and pencil at the age of 10. His first artistic instruction was received from Benjamin West, and he spent a year in the house of John Varley the water-colour painter, where he had William Hunt and William Mulready as fellow-pupils, and made the acquaintance of Shelley, Godwin and other men of mark. In 1805 he was admitted a student of the Royal Academy, where he obtained medals for drawing, modelling and sculpture. He was trained as an engraver, and executed a transcript of Varley's "Burial of Saul."
