This is a collection of 45 Tokyo street fashion portraits from Japan's premier fanzine. Fruits was established in 1994, by photographer Shoich Aoki, initially as a project to document the growing explosion in street fashion within the suburbs of Tokyo. The magazine has since grown to cult status and is now avidly followed by thousands of Japanese teenagers who also use the magazine as an opportunity to check out the latest styles and trends. The average age of the kids featured in the magazine is between 12 and 18 years and the clothes they wear are a mixture of high fashion - Vivienne Westwood is a keen favourite - and home-made ensembles which, when combined, create a novel, if not hysterical, effect.

This "book", and every other single "book" done by VDM Verlag (owner of the Alphascript imprint) and these hack editors at VDM/Alphascript are clowns who should not be allowed anywhere near a computer. This "book", and every single other "book" done by these hacks are literally nothing but copied and pasted Wikipedia articles.EVERY SINGLE BOOK DONE BY VDM AND ALPHASCRIPT AND ALL OF VDM'S OTHER IMPRINTS ARE LITERALLY COPIED AND PASTED, and not checked for accuracy or formatted properly. It is a damn shame and disgrace that booksellers like Barnes and Noble, and Amazon, sell this crap for these idiots.John McBrewster, Agnes Vandome, Frederic Miller, et. al. are editors in name only because all they do is copy and paste, no checking the text for accuracy or formatting it for printed form. These people are real losers if they think their copypasta make for a book worth buying.Avoid anything and everything printed by VDM/Alphascript/Betascript/Fastbook/whatever else. You're better off reading Wikipedia on your own and not giving these clowns a single penny for the 'work' they do.

I know I'm not the only one who saw the trailer for the movie that will be coming out this year and knew I had to get my hands on the source material. I'm totally a newbie to graphic novels and manga. Aside from a brief obsession with Sailor Moon when I was a teenager, I'm woefully unfamiliar with all anime and under-read in all areas of manga. Picking up the Deluxe edition of Battle Angel Alita was sort of a leap of faith for me, but having read the first volume tonight I'm hopeful that this will end up an unexpectedly pleasant surprise for me this month! Volume 1, entitled Rusty Angel starts the reader off with a very, very soft introduction to the world as Alita is scavenged from a junkyard by a crafty repairman named Ido. This first volume seeks to introduce the readers only to the very surface of the world, the art style, and the characters. The scope of the world thus far remains centered around only what Alita is currently experiencing. She is a cypher through which the audience will continue to learn about the world.It makes for an extremely fast-paced read. It feels fresh and exciting, as there's really nothing to be confused by quite yet. The cover artwork for the volume definitely feels dated in comparison to some of the newer manga and comics I saw sitting on the shelf in the bookstore, but somehow it totally works here. It lends the story a gritty, retro feel that I'm totally into. There's a definite focus on introducing elements of the story through action as well, which I personally think is the best way of delivering information about the world. Through a number of battle scenes and their consequences, we the reader learn about Alita's capabilities, and the abilities of a number of other cybertronic characters that exist in the world. Technology is definitely key here, and I truly enjoyed some of the ways it is implemented in the various action sequences. Be wary though, this is definitely not for the faint of heart. There's a fair amount of gore in here, although frankly I think that's to be expected considering the title! My one qualm with this was that some of the dialogue felt a little stilted, especially in the second half, but otherwise I was totally invested.Can't wait to see where the story goes next!

Persian King Xerxes led a Army of well over 100,000 (Persian king Xerxes before war has about 170,000 army) men to Greece and was confronted by 300 Spartans, 700 Thespians, and 400 Thebans. Xerxes waited for 10 days for King Leonidas to surrender or withdraw but left with no options he pushed forward. After 3 days of battle all the Greeks were killed. The Spartan defeat was not the one expected, as a local shepherd, named Ephialtes, defected to the Persians and informed Xerxes that the separate path through Thermopylae, which the Persians could use to outflank the Greeks, was not as heavily guarded as they thought.

They call the police but are discredited by Principal Valerie Drake. On the next morning, Casey discloses to Delilah, Stokely and Stan that he believes that aliens are taking over the planet through their high school. Zeke and Marybeth overhear the conversation and join the group. Further they discover that the aliens need water to survive and Zeke's drug is diuretic and kills them. But the problem is who can be trusted in the group.

Each mystery is current and unusual and involves the group stopping someone from wreaking certain havoc on the world. The gang were always driving in the Mystery Machine, returning from or going to a regular teenage function, when their van develops engine trouble or breaks down for a variety of reasons. Their (unintended) destination turns out to be suffering a monster problem, and the gang volunteers to investigate the case. Eventually, enough clues are found to convince the gang that the ghost or monster was a villain. Invariably, the ghost or monster was apprehended and revealed to be an apparently blameless authority figure or otherwise innocuous local who uses the disguise to cover up a crime or scam. After proclaiming "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!", the villain was then taken away to prison, and the gang was allowed to continue on their way to their destination.

Bob's Burgers centers on the Belcher family (Bob, Linda, Tina, Gene, and Louise) who own a hamburger restaurant. Bob's burgers are really delicious and appear to be better than his rivals' but his kids aren't really helpful at selling them, as more customers head over to Jimmy Pesto's restaurant.

Follows James Isaac "Jimmy" Neutron (Debi Derryberry), his faithful robotic dog, Goddard (Frank Welker), and his eclectic friends and family as they experience life in Retroville.
