Hitman Reborn is the story of Tsunayoshi Sawada, a spineless teenager nicknamed 'No Good Tsuna.' One day a baby hitman shows up & tells Tsuna that he's to become the new boss of a powerful international mafia family. Over time he whips No Good Tsuna into shape to take on the evil Byakuran who wishes to take over the world.

Kou Ichinomiya is a perfect man with a perfect life: he is handsome, smart, self-sufficient, and the young heir to a grand corporation. One day, he falls into the Arakawa River and nearly drowns, but is saved by a young girl named Nino, who lives in a community under a nearby bridge on the Arakawa. It's the Ichinomiya tradition to never be indebted to anyone and settle all accounts, and now Kou owes Nino a life debt. Her request is that he becomes her lover and lives with her. And so Kou begins a new life as a member of the village under the bridge - a village, he discovers, full of self-deluded and eccentric people. There's the musician who wears a star mask, a male war veteran dressed as a nun and his femme-fatale rival who runs a farm, a hairdresser samurai and many others, all led by a man in a green costume. Still, as time passes Kou begins to truly feel at home at the Arakawa under the bridge.

Shinichi Kanou is a young secluded Otaku who is offered a job thanks to his vast knowledge of anime, video games and manga and just after meeting his new employer, he is kidnapped, awakening in an alternate world with a fantasy setup. Shinichi then is informed that he was in fact selected by the Japanese government to help improve his country's relations with this new world by establishing a company to spread the unique products of the Japanese culture to this new, unexplored market.

In Tokyo, an impenetrable field known as "Hell's Gate" appeared ten years ago. At the same time, psychics who wield paranormal powers at the cost of their conscience also emerged. Hei is one of the most powerful of these psychic agents, and along with his blind associate, Yin, works for one of the many rival agencies vying to unlock the mysteries of Hell's Gate.

Long ago, humanity lived in the sea, but some humans longed to go to land and eventually left the sea behind. Now in present day, the two human types co-exist though their thinking has become as separate as they places they have lived. When their school in the sea is closed, Sea Dwellers Hikari Sakishima, Manaka Mukaido and their friends have no choice but to attend the school on land but due to a special encounter, their lives gain a new twist.

High school student Chiyo Sakura has a crush on schoolmate Umetarou Nozaki, but when she confesses her love to him, he mistakes her for a fan and gives her an autograph. When she says that she always wants to be with him, he invites her to his house and has her help on some drawings. Chiyo discovers that Nozaki is actually a renowned shoujo manga artist named Sakiko Yumeno. She then agrees to be his assistant in order to get closer to him. As they work on his manga, they encounter other schoolmates who assist them or serve as inspirations for characters in the stories.

Two brothers lose their mother to an incurable disease. With the power of "alchemy", they use taboo knowledge to resurrect her. The process fails, and as a toll for using this type of alchemy, the older brother, Edward Elric loses his left leg while the younger brother, Alphonse Elric loses his entire body. To save his brother, Edward sacrifices his right arm and is able to affix his brother's soul to a suit of armor. With the help of a family friend, Edward receives metal limbs - "automail" - to replace his lost ones. With that, Edward vows to search for the Philosopher's Stone to return the brothers to their original bodies, even if it means becoming a "State Alchemist", one who uses his/her alchemy for the military.

Junichi "Jun" Hashiba is an uncool high school student who frets about wanting to lose his virginity. In their closed-off underground village, Kamina and Simon chafe at the limits imposed by the village elder. Yet all this will change, when Simon stumbles across a fantastic device - just as the village's peace is broken by a violent intrusion.

When Keitaro was a child, he was friends with a little girl. When the girl had to move away, the two made a promise to meet each other at Tokyo University when they grew up. Honnouji Academy is forcefully ruled by the iron-fisted control of its student council and its president, Satsuki Kiryuuin. Transfer student, Ryuuko Matoi, arrives on campus carrying a giant sword, that is actually half of a scissor. She is looking for the woman who holds the other half of her sword who killed her father. It is said that Satsuki Kiryuuin knows the identity of the killer but when Ryuuko confronts her she is beaten by the student council and their powerful "goku uniforms" whom she cannot match in strength. However, once Ryuuko receives her own "Kamui" by the name of Senketsu , the odds are lifted in her favor.

Daten City is plagued by numerous Ghosts that feed upon its residents, but coming to the rescue are the angel sisters Panty and Stocking! Aided by the priest Garterbelt and their pet Chuck Zipper, these sisters from Heaven are assigned the duty of exorcising these specters. He reports to the emperor that Rito would be suited to marry Lala, after hearing Rito, who was actually defending himself instead of Lala, say that marriage is impossible unless it is with the person you love. Lala truly falls in love with Rito and decides that she wants to marry Rito after hearing what he said. Her father decides that, if Rito is able to protect Lala from her fiancés, then he can marry her. However, if Rito cannot protect Lala from her other fiancés and meet the king's expectations, Lala's father will kill Rito and destroy the Earth.

Highschool of the Dead is set in the present day, beginning as the world is struck by a deadly pandemic that turns humans into zombies, euphemistically referred to by the main characters as "them" since they are no longer considered human. The story follows a group of high school students, the high school's nurse, and a young girl as they fight their way to safety through the deadly streets of Japan during a worldwide catastrophic event known as the "Outbreak". Led by sophomore Takashi Komuro, the focal group of survivors consists of six others and a small dog, and creating a gestalt team with one purpose: to survive.
