I've burned through two copies of this book since the mid-1980's. My second copy - beat up, dog-eared, and missing it's cover - is full of highlighted sections. The earlier versions I've read didn't include the "practical techniques" stuff in the title. Because the information presented in this book was CHANNELED through Jane Roberts, I suppose a lot of people dismissed it as crap. I never had a problem with it because the concepts of how our beliefs create our reality are so thoroughly explained, making perfect sense to me. It may interest some of you to know Richard Bach sat in on some of Jane Robert's channeled sessions with "Seth", and the concepts presented by the characters in his books "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" and especially "Illusions" had their roots in the work Bach did with her.

Read the Longman Simplified English version.This book is important because it's a window into the lifestyles of people living in the 18th century. I have to admit the dullness of the interactions mixed with the third person omniscient style (which lacks emotions) did not give me a good first impression of the novel. Yet, due to curiosity as to why this is a classic I decided to keep going. As far as petty drama goes I was pleasantly surprised upon reaching 3/4 of the book. (view spoiler)[When the youngest sister Lydia ran off with the sleazy Mr. Wickham the plot took an interesting turn which significantly changed my opinion. The title of the book is also very fitting. Pride = Mr. Darcy Prejudice = Elizabeth The story about two unlikely people that fall for each other while overcoming their flaws.  (hide spoiler)]

The Grand Inquisitor is a parable told by Ivan to Alyosha in Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel, The Brothers Karamazov. Ivan and Alyosha are brothers; Ivan is a committed atheist and Alyosha is a novice monk. The Grand Inquisitor is an important part of the novel and one of the best-known passages in modern literature because of its ideas about human nature and freedom, and because of its fundamental ambiguity.

Het verhaal van 'De groot-inquisiteur', is misschien wel het beroemdste gedeelte uit het hele oeuvre van de grote Russische romanschrijver F.M. Dostojevski. This is a chapter from one of my favorite novels, The Brothers Karamazov. Some friends already know about my unconditional love for Dostoyevsky's work. Anything I say is extremely subjective and ultimately forgettable. Anyway, it is preferable to read the entire novel so as to not only enjoy that gem, but to basically understand the characters' particular views.Ah. The Lord and the inquisitor.\

His business partner is his son H.W., who in reality he "acquired" when H.W.'s biological single father, who worked on one of Daniel's rigs, got killed in a workplace accident. Daniel is deeply protective of H.W. if only for what H.W. brings to the partnership. Eli Sunday is one in a pair of twins, whose family farm Daniel purchases for the major oil deposit located on it. Some of the revelations in Benjamin's diary are difficult for Caroline to read, especially as it relates to the time past this reconnection between Benjamin and Daisy, when Daisy gets older and Benjamin grows younger into his childhood years.
