Based on the book series by Lauren Brooke, the Flemings - Amy, Lou, their grandfather Jack, and their father Tim - are brought closer following the tragic death of their mother. Along with a cast of quirky characters, they go through trials and joys running a horse ranch, "Heartland", in Alberta, Canada that has been passed down from generation to generation.
