Doctor Watson is now a fairly young veteran of the Afghan war, less adoring and more active.

It's a hot summer on Amity Island, a small community whose main business is its beaches. When Coraline moves to an old house, she feels bored and neglected by her parents. She finds a hidden door with a bricked up passage. In a castle high on top of a hill lives an inventor's greatest creation - Edward, a near-complete person. Since then, he has lived alone, until a kind lady called Peg discovers him and welcomes him into her home. At first, everyone welcomes him into the community, but soon things begin to take a change for the worse.
