Lisa Taddeo is an American author, journalist and two-time recipient of the Pushcart Prize for her short stories 42 (2017), published in the New England Review and Suburban Weekend (2019), published in Granta. Her 2019 book, Three Women, became a #1 New York Times best seller.

Taddeo was born to Peter Taddeo, an Italian American doctor, and Pia, a fruit stand cashier from Italy. Taddeo is from Short Hills, New Jersey and attended Millburn High School. She first attended New York University but transferred to Rutgers University. Taddeo completed her MFA in fiction at Boston University. Her mother was born in Italy. Her father died in a car accident. She married Jackson Waite in 2014 and now lives in Litchfield County, Connecticut, with their daughter. She previously lived in West Tisbury, Massachusetts, on Martha's Vineyard.
