Papini’nin Borges’in Babil Kitaplığı serisinden Kaçak Ayna öykü kitabını okumuş ve çok beğenmiştim. Hatta yorumumu şu cümleyle bitirmiştim “Mussolini’yi destekleyen yani faşist düşüncedeki bir insan bu kadar naif olabilir mi?”Bu kitabında Papini savaş fırsatçılığı ile zengin olmuş, cahil ve insanları sevmeyen, hiç bir şekilde memnun olmayan, kendi söylemiyle her şeyi satın alabilecek kadar parası olan ama yine de canı sıkılan bir multimilyarderin, kitaba adını veren fantastik kurgu karakterinin yani GOG’un, parasını gezmek-görmek-öğrenmek için harcaması, bunun için dünyanın her yerine gitmesi ve bu esnada karşılaştığı dönemin ünlü simalarıyla yaptığı hayali sohbetlerin, bazı konulardaki saptamalarının ve günlük şeklinde anlatılarının toplamından oluşan bir kitap.Aynı Mişima için yaptığımızı Papini için de yapalım, yani kişiliğini, siyasi düşüncesinİ, dünya görüşünü bir tarafa bırakalım ve bu sadece bu eserine, GOG’a odaklanalım. Benim gördüğüm “genious” denecek kadar zeki, bir o kadar akıcı ve kuvvetli kalemi olan, mizahı, özellikle kara mizahı çok iyi kullanan, edebiyat, felsefe ve tarih bilgisi, entellektüel düşünme gücü oldukça güçlü bir yazar. Aykırı ve kışkırtıcı, oldukça radikal fikirleri var, “şeytanın avukatlığını” sakınmadan yapıyor.Yahudi karşıtı ve ırkçı, kadını aşağılayan cinsiyetçi söylemleri çok net olarak görülüyor, kitabı okuyunca yazarın faşist düşünceye yakın olduğu anlaşılıyor. Din ve tanrı konularıyla da yakından ilgili. Spiritüel dünya, medyumluk, telepati gibi metafizik öğelerden bahseden bölümlerde aslında kendi düşüncelerini, “zihni sinir projelerini” anlatıyor, sanki kafası biraz karışık. Aslında her şeye karşı, her kişiye, her düşünceye, her akıma, her inanca velhasıl her şeye söyleyecek iki çift karşı söz buluyor, hatta karşı olmasa bile bunu yapıyor, huzursuzluğa yapışmış. Anarşizm ile nihilizm arasında gidip geliyor. Kitap iki ciltten oluşuyor, farklı tarihlerde yazılmışlar. İlkini (Gog) 1931’de 1. Dünya Savaşı sonrasında, ikinci kitabı ise (Kara Kitap) 1951’de 2. Dünya Savaşından sonra yazmış. Ancak ikinci cilt birincisinin kötü demeyelim ama zayıf bir kopyası. Sanırım bu nedenle ikinci bölümden pek keyif almadım. İddialı olacak ama ikinci kitap okunmasa pek kayıp olmaz bence.Temelde eleştirel bir kitap. Din, siyaset, sosyal ilişkiler, yaşam, ölüm, savaş, barış gibi birçok konuda kısa anlatılarla muhalif bir dünya yaratıyor Papini. Ünlü yazarlar, düşünürler, sanatçılar, politikacılar ile yaptığı kurgusal görüşmelerden çıkardığı notları paylaşıyor. Kitabın çevirisi mükemmel (Fikret Adil). Kitabın kurgusunu değerlendirmiyorum çünkü hayali kahraman GOG’un günlüklerinin aktarımından ibaret. Aslında bu kitabı roman olarak değerlendirmek güç, denemeler ve öykülerden oluşmuş bir anlatı gibi. Buna karşın roman olarak kabul edilirse bence deneysel ve çok başarılı, biraz fantezi, biraz kurgu ile kuvvetlendirilmiş deneysel bir roman. Pessoa’nın Huzursuzluğun Kitabı’na benzettim. Zaten okurken de huzursuz ettiği bölümler oldukça fazla. Montaigne’nin “Denemeleri”nden etkilendiği muhakkak. Çünkü denemeleri konu ve yaklaşım açısından benzeşiyor. Kitabın kahramanının ikametgahı olan New Parthenon’da yazdıkları biraz bilim kurgu biraz distopya gibi.Papini’nin çok kitap okuduğunu ve bazılarından çok etkilendiğini kitaptaki bazı önemli eserlerden yaptığı alıntılardan anlayabiliyoruz. Alıntılar bu eserlerdeki olay veya kişilerin aynısı olduğundan hemen tanınıyorlar. Örneğin Shakepaere’in Hamlet’i, Dante’nin İlahi Komedi’si, Cervantes’in Don Quiote’u, Swift’in Güliverin Seyahatleri, Homeros’un İlyada’sı, Nietzsche’nin Böyle Buyurdu Zerdüşt’ü, Volter’in Candid’i, Goethe’nin Faust’u, Flaubert’in Madam Bovary’si ilk göze çarpanlar. Bu yorumu sonuna kadar okuduysanız, sizin bir “kitap kurdu” olduğunuzdan ne kadar eminsen bu kitabı “kitap kurtlarının” beğeneceğinden de o kadar eminim. Son bir not; okuduğum kitap İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları 13. baskısı. Modern Klasikler dizisinin 56 no’lu kitabı. Kapağı açınca karşınıza çıkan ilk sayfa no: 52, yani Anthony Burgess’in “Doktor Hastalandı” kitabının bilgilerinin olduğu sayfa. Bu ayıp İş Bankası yayınlarına yakışmadı.
