The following simply are not screamo: Alesana, Antioch Arrow, Blessthefall, Engine Down, Escape the Fate, Four Letter Lie, Funeral for a Friend, Gay for Johnny Depp, Hand to Hand, Hawthorne Heights, JR Ewing, Matchbook Romance, Our Last Night, Pay Money To My Pain, Ruet Caelum, A Static Lullaby, Thursday, Yesterdays Rising

The reasoning is simple: Either the bands in the above list are not DIY(and most likely mainstream and signed to major labels) or their style is simply incorrect. However, if their style was actually screamo in the first place it would be DIY because screamo cannot be under any circumstance mainstream. The style itself simply does not allow it. If it's mainstream, it just can't be actual screamo.
