Manoj "M. Night" Shyamalan (/ˈʃæməlæn/; born 6 August 1970) is an Indian-American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor known for making movies with contemporary supernatural plots and twist endings. His most praised films include the supernatural horror thriller The Sixth Sense (1999), the superhero drama thriller Unbreakable (2000), the science fiction thriller Signs (2002), the found footage horror The Visit (2015) and the psychological horror Split (2016).
