Mario Party is a party video game developed by Hudson Soft and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 game console. It was released in Japan in December 18, 1998, in North America on February 8, 1999 and in Europe and Australia on March 9, 1999. The game was targeted at a young audience. During development, Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto served as supervisor. Upon release, it received mostly positive reviews from critics, who commended its multiplayer mode and music, but voiced disapproval of its lack of originality and the graphics received mixed reactions. Despite this, several minigames required the player to rotate the console controller’s analog stick. However, several players reportedly got blisters, friction burns, and lacerations after using their palm of their hand instead of their thumb. It is the first installment in the Mario Party series and was followed by Mario Party 2 in 1999 for the same system.

The film premiered on July 30, 2014, and was the highest-premiering film on the Syfy Channel.In the film, Fin Shepard travels to New York with April Wexler and attempts to stop a group of sharknadoes that appear there.Fin Shepard, and his former wife, April Wexler, are traveling to New York City to promote How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters, a book April has written about the Los Angeles sharknado. As the plane comes in for a landing through a storm, it is battered by airborne sharks, losing an engine. Sharks enter the plane, killing passengers and the crew, including both pilots. While Fin lands the plane, April's hand is severed while she attempts to shoot a shark with an air marshal's handgun.

Sharknado is a 2013 American made-for-television science fiction comedy disaster film directed by Anthony C. Ferrante. It tells about a waterspout that lifts sharks out of the ocean and deposits them in Los Angeles. It is the first installment in the Sharknado film series. It first aired on the Syfy channel on July 11, 2013, and stars Tara Reid, Ian Ziering, and John Heard. It was also given a one-night-only special midnight theatrical screening via Regal Cinemas and Fathom Events, where it earned $200,000 from 200 screenings. The over-the-top premise and theatrics of the film quickly earned it a cult following. The idea was first introduced and may have been inspired by the comic Cow and Boy, in an October 2, 2006 comic referencing this ridiculous idea for a movie.
