This is a very important book in historic sense, in the genre of vampire reading, due that it was published 25 years before than Dracula. Also, it presented lesbian situations, easily one of the first open mentions of the topic in literature.So, it was a pioneer book in two subjects: Vampires and Lesbian literature.Some may wonder how it was possible to publish a book with lesbian issues in 1872.Joseph Sheridan Le Fanú was ingenious in that, since when he was asked about, he just replied that it wasn't a homosexual situation since Carmilla was a vampire and due that, it was a creature without sexual genre.Sneaky devil this Le Fanu!Of course, that was a trick by the author but it worked since the book didn't have any trouble to be published in those times when there was a extremely close-minded attitude.And certainly the importance of the book to the eventual sucess of Bram Stoker's novel was fundamental.Without Carmilla there weren't Dracula and due that maybe there weren't a vampire sub-genre in the horror books that now it's one of the strongest subjects in modern paranormal literature.\

Le Fanú also was the father of the Gothic horror of Britain establishing the style of how that kind of literature would be written even on these days.Maybe the only trouble with Carmilla to be read by current readers is its form of mystery that it's impossible that anybody would pick nowadays this particular novel to read without the previous knowledge that Carmilla is a vampire, and due that, the reader felt like reading a mystery where one already knows the answer to the mystery.The clues to the real nature of Carmilla are elegant and stylish but too evident for any reader familiar with vampire-related similar books, movies, TV series, etc...It's clear that Carmilla started all and the reality is that anybody else copied FROM it, but sadly, in many case, readers find the book way after of being already too familiar with the general world of vampires, diminishing the shock that the book could ever do.However, it's still an important book in literature history.

While investigating the school files, the frightened teacher Mrs. Park startles and calls the young teacher Eun-young Hur, telling her that the deceased Jin-ju Jang is back. The line dies and Mrs. Park is attacked and killed by a ghost. On the next morning, the teenager Jae-yi Yoon waits for her friend Ji-oh Lim, who has the ability to call the spirits, and they begin a close friendship. The abusive and aggressive Mr. Oh, a.k.a. Mad Dog, is the substitute of Mrs. Park and prohibits Ji-oh to paint and compares the performances of the pretty So-young Park and the weird Jung-sook Kim, raising a barrier between the two former friends. An impromptu event that happens among Carrie's phys ed classmates against her leads to her classmates being punished. One of those students, self absorbed Chris Hargensen, vows revenge against Carrie for that punishment, the method of the revenge associated to the phys ed class incident. Another student however, the popular Sue Snell, begins to feel sorry for Carrie. In wanting to help her get out of her shell, Sue asks her boyfriend, the equally popular Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to the senior prom instead of her. This move does not sit well with Mrs. White, who in her extreme view believes Carrie will fall prey to sin. All these competing issues lead to Carrie deciding on an impulse to use a newfound skill to free herself from the figurative chains that have long been placed around her, with tragic consequences.

Reiko Asakawa is researching into a 'Cursed Video' interviewing teenagers about it. When her niece Tomoko dies of 'sudden heart failure' with an unnaturally horrified expression on her face, Reiko investigates. She finds out that some of Tomoko's friends, who had been on a holiday with Tomoko the week before, had died on exactly the same night at the exact same time in the exact same way. Reiko goes to the cabin where the teens had stayed and finds an 'unlabeled' video tape. Reiko watched the tape to discover to her horror it is in fact the 'cursed videotape'. Ex-Husband Ryuji helps Reiko solve the mystery, Reiko makes him a copy for further investigation. Things become more tense when their son Yoichi watches the tape saying Tomoko had told him to. Their discovery takes them to a volcanic island where they discover that the video has a connection to a psychic who died 30 years ago, and her child Sadako...

Mortals in their lives also add to their complicated lives: Darrin's friend and spendthrift boss, Larry Tate (David White) of McMann and Tate Advertising, who always wants Darrin to do all the work while the company gets all the glory and money; their nosy neighbors, the Kravitzes, Gladys Kravitz (Sandra Gould/Alice Pearce), who always arrives at the most inopportune time to show her exasperated husband Abner Kravitz (George Tobias) that something funny is going on in the Stephens house; and Darrin's parents, his mother, Phyllis Stephens (Mabel Albertson), who is prone to splitting headaches which become more prevalent as she thinks she sees things in Samantha that just couldn't be in her mortal view. That complicated life gets even more complicated when they start a family, the children who could be mortal or who could be witches and warlocks.

2020 South Korean romantic comedy television series

A young girl who lives with her cruel stepmother and sister, accidentally meets 3 young and rich cousins who live a luxury life in a big mansion and is hired by the boys grandpa to look after their bad behavior.

Cha Eun Sang and her disabled mother both have to work hard, humiliating jobs, in order to support her older sister who's at university in America. Cha Eun Sang can't wait for her sister, who's her idol, to come back to Korea, and start earning money, so she can stop washing dishes and get a degree herself. However one day, Cha Eun Sang learns that her sister is about to get married, and realizes she'll never return to Korea, so she'll forever have to wash dishes. She resolves to go to America as well, and get better life. However, what she finds in America is far worse than she could ever imagine. Her sister is not only not getting married, but is also not at university, and is earning money working as a waitress, and maybe some shadier side jobs as well. After her sister notices her, they have a fight, she takes all of Cha Eun Sang's money and runs off, leaving her to cry and gather her broken dreams of the pavement. This entire exchange is observed by mysterious Kim Tan, who has completely different set of problems, but decides to take Cha Eun Sang's problems on, as well. At first reluctant to go with a guy who seems all to well acquainted with LAPD, she agrees to go with him simply so to not spend the night on the street. Kim Tan who is same age as her, leaves with no parents around, in a big, luxurious house, which makes her immediately assume he's a drug dealer. Instead of calming her down, he suggest he might also be dealing in human organs to support this life style. Meanwhile in Korea, we see group of privileged, spoiled high schoolers, the future 1% of Korean society, who all seem to be familiar with Kim Tan, and not many of them are fond of him. One of these is Choi Young Do, tall, handsome genius, with rancid personality, who learns that before getting his own stately resorts, he'll first be getting same aged, equally beautiful and "pleasant", step sister, Rachel Yoo, who's also engaged to be married to none other but his arch enemy, Kim Tan.

Eun Dan Oh is a 17-year-old high-school student from a wealthy family who suffers from a lifelong heart condition that inevitably means she will not live past her teenage years. However, when Dan Oh realizes she is experiencing long gaps in her memory as well, she comes into the unhappy inheritance of another fact in her life: she is a character in a Korean webtoon and all of her actions are predetermined by the artist who draws her. To make matters worse, she discovers she is only a supporting character in the cast. With her newfound understanding of the world she inhabits, she is determined to find true love in her own plot-line and circumvent the author's plans for her character by utilizing the flashes of storyboard she alone is able to see.

Poor girl Jan Di attends elite Shin Hwa High, where she's bullied by Joon Pyo, leader of F4 (the four richest and most gorgeous boys). Joon Pyo becomes attracted to Jan Di, but she has a crush on Yoon Ji Hoo, Joon Pyo's best friend. This is a Cinderella story about the F4 friends and the normal girl who manages to break into their clique and win their friendship along with the romantic affections of two of the four.

Lee Sin is popular in his high school for his band "The Stupid", and his female schoolmate Lee Gyo Won is devoted to traditional Korean music. Lee Sin's father, Lee Hyun Soo, was a popular guitarist in his time but is now on the verge of death because of drug addiction, which also caused his separation from Song Ji Yeong, Lee Sin's mother, long ago. Lee Gyo Won's grandfather, Lee Dong-jin, is one of the top three traditional musicians of his age, and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional-music prodigy. He's strictly against modern music, which he believes misleads the tradition. The high school comes up with "The 100th Year Anniversary" where students get the opportunity to show their skills. Can Lee Sin prove his skill in modern music like his father did? And will Lee Gyo Won be able to keep up her grandfather's expectations? Or is something else waiting for her?

The management company of the idol group A.N.JELL insisted on adding a new singer to the group as the lead vocal's, Tae-Kyung's, voice was hurting. However, the new member Mi-nam, had to go to the States to repair a botched eye job just before signing the contract. His agent came up with the idea of having his twin sister, Mi-nyu, stand in for him and pretend that she was her brother. The two of them grew up in an orphanage and Mi-nyu, who was all set to become a nun, agreed to this charade as she didn't want to spoil her brother's chance of fame which would make it easier to look for their mother.

Dream High tells the story of six students at Kirin Art High School who work to achieve their dreams of becoming Korean music stars. Go Hye Mi is a student who sings classical music but must give up her dream by entering Kirin Art High School to pay off her father's debt. However, she needs to get two other students to come to the school in order for her to enroll.

The Addams Family is not your typical family: it takes delight in most of the things of which normal people would be terrified. Gomez Addams is an extremely wealthy man and is able to indulge his wife Morticia's every desire, whether it's cultivation of poisonous plants or a candlelit dinner in a graveyard. People visiting the Addams Family just don't seem to appreciate the 7-foot-tall butler named Lurch or the helping hand (which is just a disembodied hand named Thing).
