Once upon a school day, I think when I was in second grade (so this would have been pre-1980, I believe), we went on our bi-weekly library outing. The librarian had us sit in front of her in the storytime area and whipped this book out. She read it to us. That may have been when I realized my love for wordplay.I don't think I'd ever laughed so hard in storytime in my life.That librarian read us a lot of good books (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, Charlotte's Web(that was in third grade and it took several weeks to finish), and others) but this one is the one that stuck with me for years. The sponge cake? Drawing the drapes? And the best part was that I understood Amelia's blunders, I got why it was funny and it warmed this little spot in my brain, in my heart, and in my soul which was not yet blackened and shriveled.I have this book on my shelves. I'll pick it up every few years and thumb through it and by the end, I'm grinning so hugely, my cheeks hurt.

The Los Angeles punk music scene circa 1980 is the focus of this film. With Alice Bag Band, Black Flag, Catholic Discipline, Circle Jerks, Fear, Germs, and X.

David Byrne walks onto the stage and does a solo "Psycho Killer." Jerry Harrison, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz join him for two more songs. The crew is busy, still setting up. Then, three more musicians and two back-up singers join the band. Everybody sings, plays, harmonizes, dances, and runs. They change instruments and clothes. Bryne appears in the Big Suit. The backdrop is often black, but sometimes it displays words, images, or children's drawings. The band cooks for 18 songs, the lyrics are clear, the house rocks. In this concert film, the Talking Heads hardly talk, don't stop, and always make sense.

Young girl wakes up with no memory. She sees a floating spirit who tells her that her amnesia is his fault and that she just plays along and acts normally while he helps her gain her memory back. She tries, but it's not easy.

In a futuristic dystopian world where memories are literally stored, bought and sold and rich have all the privileges, a young amnesiac is trying to find out who he is.

One night, the protagonist encounters a deity of matrimony during dinner. He tells him that Ms. Akashi will end up paired with either him or Ozu and it's up to him to take the opportunity that is dangling in front of him or not.

Irish Catholic couple Sean and Claudia Finnerty live in Staten Island, New York with their three children--Lily, Jimmy, and Henry. They get into all sorts of trouble, usually because of Sean's brother Eddie, who's got connections all over town. Sean and Eddie's father Walt often drops by and shares in the disaster. Most adventures are later recalled and they find out exactly what happened, like when the family car was supposedly stolen, when Sean's credit card was mysteriously maxed out, and even when Sean causes a blackout on Super Bowl Sunday. All this and more, and because Sean and Claudia were young and carefree when they got married and had kids, they are now grounded for life.

Ten-year-old genius (Tahj Mowry) has skipped six grades into high school. This incredible promotion somewhat aggravates his teenage siblings.

The Winslow family is a pretty normal family except for one thing, their neighbor Steve Urkel. A genius and klutz, Steve makes some really weird inventions while driving the Winslows insane and having an unrequited crush on Laura, the Winslow's middle child.

In this TV series we see the "adventures" and goofs of a young schoolboy named Cory Matthews and his best friend Shawn Hunter. At school, they aren't very popular with girls, and they have enemies like Harley, Joey, and Frankie. They also get often in trouble with Mr. Feeny, the school's funny principal.
