After her parents separate, 14 year-old Tetsuko (who will soon be nick-named Alice) moves with her mother to a new town in what she calls "The Boonies" and must enroll as a transfer student in a new middle school. She immediately finds herself bullied due being assigned the seat of "Judas" who is said to have been murdered over a year before. She is told that if anybody knows his fate it would be Hana, the recluse in the house next door, who has been unable to bring herself to attend class since "Judas" disappeared.

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear revolves around a 15-year-old Yuna. One day, upon returning home, she is hyped for a new update for her favorite world's first VRMMO, World Fantasy Online. Ever since the game service began one year ago, she quit going to school and just passed time doing absolutely nothing, but playing the game. After the server's maintenance has been performed and a new update has become online, Yuna meets either a GM, or an NPC, telling her that all the players may receive a loot box and the reward will depend on how long they have been playing the game. Yuna receives a kuma costume, which she finds embarrassing at first, but later quickly forgets about that feeling, when she sees the stats of this costume, which are quite high. Having received the costume, she is also asked to take a survey: her attitude towards real life, her opinion on the game, if she believes in God and finally if she finds the kuma costume cute. Finally, she logs in the game and finds out that she wears that detestable kuma costume and receives a mail from some mysterious person. That person welcomes her in the new world, since she finds real life too boring. 'Enjoy your life, wearing the costume, you do not like, in a world, in which you are sent by someone, you know nothing about.' Things become complicated, when Yuna finds out that she is now not in a virtual reality, but rather in a real world.

In the prosperous kingdom of Pars lies the Royal Capital of Ecbatana, a city of splendor and wonder, ruled by the undefeated and fearsome King Andragoras. Arslan is the young and curious prince of Pars who, despite his best efforts, doesn't seem to have what it takes to be a proper king like his father. After rescuing a girl, Cid creates an elaborate plot about how he was the leader of an ancient organization, sworn to fight the Cult of Diabolos, so as to prevent said cult from resurrecting Diabolos. The girl swears her allegiance to Cid and so, he builds his organization, the Shadow Garden. Little does he know that his eighth-grader syndrome-induced story has actual basis in the world.

The enormous cave system, known as the Abyss, is the only unexplored place in the world. Nobody knows how deep down goes this titanic pit, inhabited by strange and wondrous creatures and full of mysterious ancient relics which purpose in unknown to modern man. Generations of bold adventurers have been drawn by the cryptic depths of the Abyss. In course of time those bold enough to explore the dangerous pit came to be known as "Cave Raiders." In Orth, the town at the edge of the Abyss, there lives a little orphan named Riko, who dreams of becoming as great a cave raider as her mother was and solving the great mystery of the pit. One day exploring the murky depths she stumbles upon a little boy named Reg, who turns out to be a robot.
