Spider is having a bad time in his city. His column was silenced by the government once and they are threatening to do so again at the first sign of trouble. On the top of that, Spider is now a well-known celebrity which is not a good thing in this city.But Mr. President forgot one thing: you can never bottle up a tornado. Because sooner or later, that goddamn tornado will eat up everything and start throwing it back in full fury.And it will be most magnificent shit you will ever see in your life!Waren Ellis delivers one of the sharpest volumes of Transmetropolitan with a lot of journalistic action, razor-sharp writing and a beautiful plot. Seriously, I've never read anything like this in my life! Warren Ellis cashed in many earlier bits of story and characters in this arc to deliver something unique. Something wholesome!I devoured this volume faster than any other installments of Transmetropolitan. Granted, the concept of investigative journalism is a lot different in Jerusalem's book. But it doesn't matter in his city.Only the story matters!

Every hero, even a curse-spewing junkie hero, needs a villain. A Joker to Jerusalem's Batman.Seriously, he looks like a Joker too. But the thing is, he might just be the next President of America!(I wouldn't have believed stuff like this a couple of years back. How times have changed!)\

Before this volume, I had settled on the notion that Spider is a total dick. Seriously, the previous volumes portray him as a Junkie who cares nothing about humanity, but the absurdities of humanity. But this volume paints him in a different light. Can a death change a person this much? Because it's not like subtle changes or random acts of niceties. He was a genuine saint in this volume.The highlights of the issue are the two spectacular interviews with the presidential candidates. I had genuine goosebumps when Spider was interviewing Cary Callahan face-to-face. The build-up, the dialogues and the art all came together at this point to deliver one helluva scene in this volume.I also loved Yelena and Channon's chemistry and exchanges. They were fun to watch! But..... in my opinion, other than those two interviews, there wasn't anything note-worthy in this volume. Warren Ellis has considerably slowed down the pace which I believe is great for the story as a whole. But as a single volume, this one is weaker than its predecessors.Also, There is a lot of ranting in this one!

The hammer has come down on him but outlaw journalist Spider Jerusalem has managed to stay one step ahead of his detractors - I.e. the President of the United States and his authoritarian lackeys in publishing and law enforcement.After losing his byline, bank account, and apartment, Jerusalem and his Filthy Assistants have legged it underground, the better to implement his plan. What plan, you say? Why, the plan to bring down the President of course!

Ladies and Gentlemen, We are back in Black!After the events of the fourth volume, Warren Ellis opens this installment with a great stand alone chapter featuring a very interesting interview.... of Spider himself. He contemplates about death, life, the concept of the fair game, and finally ties it all up to the main story arc beautifully.The next two chapters are also stand alone in their own term, one featuring random rants of Spider and another featuring Spider and Co's unethical boundless investigative journalism. I enjoyed parts of these two chapters, but as a whole, these two were weakest ones in the volume, if not the whole series.But fear not, because the rest of the Volume's three part story arc will Blow you away.\

This infatuation coincides with the Fittses moving in next door: homophobic disciplinarian US Marine Colonel Frank Fitts who rules the house with a military fist (that fist being both figurative and literal), his semi-comatose wife Barbara Fitts, and their bright and quietly subversive 18-year-old son Ricky Fitts, who openly abides by his father's rules while behind the scenes lives by his own quite different perspective. Much like Lester's infatuation, Ricky immediately becomes infatuated with Jane; he considers girls like Angela as ordinary. The entry of Angela and the Fittses into the Burnhams' lives ultimately leads to each of the players confronting what is truly in his or her heart.

His companions include the delivery ship's Captain, Leela, a beautiful one-eyed female alien who kicks some serious butt, and Bender, a robot with very human flaws.
