The Quran ( kor-AHN; Arabic: القرآن‎, romanized: al-Qurʼān Arabic pronunciation: [alqur'ʔaːn], literally meaning "the recitation"), also romanized Qur'an or Koran, is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Allah). It is widely regarded as the finest work in classical Arabic literature. Slightly shorter than the New Testament, it is organized in 114 chapters (Arabic: سورة sūrah, plural سور suwar) — not according to chronology or subject matter, but according to length of surahs (with some exceptions). Surah are subdivided into verses (Arabic: آية āyah, plural آيات āyāt).Muslims believe that the Quran was orally revealed by God to the final prophet, Muhammad, through the archangel Gabriel (Jibril), incrementally over a period of some 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death. Muslims regard the Quran as Muhammad's most important miracle, a proof of his prophethood, and the culmination of a series of divine messages starting with those revealed to Adam, including the Tawrah (Torah), the Zabur ("Psalms") and the Injil ("Gospel"), and ending with Muhammad's revelation. The word "Quran" occurs some 70 times in the Quran's text, and other names and words are also said to refer to the Quran. It is thought by Muslims to be not simply divinely inspired, but the literal word of God.

بدأ الكاتب بالحديث عن التشيع والفلسفة النبويةحيث إنه إذا كان أول ما اختلف فيه المسلمين هو الإمامةفيرى الكاتب أن منبع الفلسفة الإسلامية في الأساس يعود إلى فلسفة الشيعةوهناك ميل واضح منه ناحية هذه الفلسفة، حتى أنه أخذ وضع الدفاع عنها أحيانًاوحتى مقارناته التي يعقدها بين كل فلسفة وأخرى كان أحيانًا يحاول ترجيح كفتهالكن صدقًا هذا جزء كنت أنتظر انتهاؤه بفارغ الصبرالنبوة التي تستمر لآخر الزمان عن طريق الولاةوعلم النبوي الذي يتوارثه الأئمة جيل بعد جيل، والغنوصية(المعرفة الباطنية) التي يستلهمها الوليّ وكأنه نبي يوحى إليهوالأمام الغائب المنتظر عودته في آخر الزمانكلها أشياء سببت ليّ صداع عقلي أثناء القراءة، كان جزء ميثولوجي وليس فلسفي بالمرة!ربما أيضًا لأنها المرة الأولى التي اصطدم فيها بفلسفة المعرفة الباطنية عند الشيعةجزء صعب كنت أسعى أن انتهي منه، حتى يبدأ جزء الحديث عن فلسفتي المعتزلة والأشاعرةوهذا هو أكثر جزء ممتع بالنسبة ليّ في هذا الكتاببدأ بالحديث عن أصول المعتزلة ونشأتهمأهم الموضوعات التي ناقشها المعتزلة من ذات الله وصفاته وخلق القرآنثم بدأ بالحديث عن أبو الحسن الأشعري وتركه مذهب الاعتزال ونقدهومحاولاته التوفيق بين المفرطين في استخدام العقل، والمفرطين في النقلأعتقد هذين الجزئين هماأكثر الأجزاء التي تحدث فيها كوربان استفاضةبالأضافة إلى جزء التصوف، الذي حاول فيه توضيح التقارب الشديد والاختلاط بين فلسفة الشيعة وفلسفة المتصوفين ولا سيما من حيث المعرفة الباطنية!تحدث عن علوم الطبيعة وأهم رموزها وفلاسفتهاكجابر بن حيان وابن سينا وأخوان الصفا والخوارزمي والرازي وغيرهما كثيرينوالفلسفة الهلينية التي أرغب في القراءة عنها أكثروختم بالفلسفة الإسلامية في الأندلس وأهم رموزهاأمثال ابن باجه وابن طفيل وانتهى عند ابن رشدجدير بالذكر أن هذا جزء من ثلاثة أجزاء لم تترجم بعدانهى كوربان الجزء الأول عند وفاة ابن رشد لما يراه الغربيون من تحول مصير الفلسفة الإسلامية من بعدهولم يرى أن نقد الغزالي في الفلسفة ضربة قاضية، حتى أنه تعرض لجزء الغزالي بمنطق تأريخي فقط!انتظر باقي أجزاء هذا المرجع التاريخي بشغفوبالتأكيد ساقرأ هذا الكتاب مرة أخرى، ولكن سأنتظر حتى اقرؤه بعقلية أكبرومعلومات أكثر عن الفلسفة الإسلاميةكتاب دسم وممتع بلا شك، وسعيدة بما أضافه لحصيلتي المعرفيةكتاب آخر أدين له بالكثير، هو أحدى الكتب التي فضحت جهلي!تمّت
