Poor little Squee LOLSquee is a nervous little boy who lives in a frightening world. He is plagued by pretty much everything including strange adults, aliens from another world, and the crazy homicidal maniac who lives next door. 

I am not feeling much better about this second one. The first two arcs, I thought, were alright. They even seemed to have something interesting to say. Then we got to the diarrhea. Yeah. I didn't need that. Nor many of the things that followed it. There was one more arc that I thought was interesting, but again ... with so much shit (pun TOTALLY intended) I can't imagine that the glimmerings I got from those arcs were purposeful. I have to step back for a moment, because I can't say these comics are "bad." They are definitely not my taste. To me, the humor seems very haphazard. There is no reason for any of the events happening in the story. I dunno ... five more issues left. Let's see what insanity awaits. Garcia's first book collecting her lovely art commenting on our drug-dependent, war-mongering society. The San Jose Art Museum's website had a bunch of videos (my brain just froze - I can't remember the new name for them...) of Garcia explaining the thought process behind each "grouping" of her art, when they were doing her show. I don't know if they're still up, but if so they're very worth checking out. You can see in this book, and also in the videos as she explains her work, how her early art very soon matures into something deeper, and politics really comes into play. Anyway - you don't have to know any of that to love her work, of course - it just adds a level -

Featuring stories about limbless cannibals, clock monsters, cursed vampire dolls, taxidermied friends and obssesed would be lover and more fuzzy animal mutilations than should be legal. Lenore is one of the funniest, darkest comic books on the marketplace today.

I've been meaning to read some Tank Girl for ages. Bill had these ones and dug them out for me. I have to say it wasn't what I was expecting. First of all the most amazing thing about the comics was that they were a mixture of colour and black and white in a single issue. I've never seen anyone do that before! I didn't think the comic format allowed for that. So i thought that was really cool. I did quite enjoy them. I liked the art work style. I liked how Tank Girl was both an attractive punk and kinda hideous at the same time. The humour just didn't always sit right with me though and I'm not such a fan of vinegette story telling rather than longer narratives. But I am curious enough to read more.
