Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole was theatrically released in North America on September 24, 2010, and in Australia on September 30, 2010, by Warner Bros. Pictures in RealD 3D and IMAX 3D. The film received mixed reviews from critics, who praised the voice performances and visual effects but criticized the story, characters and inconsistent tone. The film grossed $140.1 million on an $80 million budget.
