Books like The Scot, the Witch and the Wardrobe

This wasn't one of my favorite Annette Blair books but it was still a good read. I have a hard time with the story line that revolves around people denying their abilities - which concidering those abilities are paranormal I guess I should be more sympathetic - but I kind of feel like it's waisting time to blather on and on about - How can this be? when it is - so just suck it up and move on. (run on sentence much?)Bitching aside I think these books are fun and they have steam heat which is always a plus. :)
