Aisha Goes Wild

Hmmm I liked this one less than I have generally liked the books in this series. Perhaps it because I took a big break between the last one and this one. A lot of the plotlines were just kind of ridiculous :P (view spoiler)[First of all, I'm pretty much sick of the Zoey/Lucas back and forth drama. In this installment, the drama was that Lucas and Claire made out, but Zoey heard from Jake (who I'm pretty sure gathered the info from Claire purposefully but I can't quite remember) that Lucas and Claire slept together. She more or less broke up with Lucas and was "never going to forgive him". Then she hears from Claire that they DIDN'T sleep together and she's like I'm so sorry Lucas and then they're together. Lucas is like "hm, I should probably admit to kissing Claire, but nahhhhhh" and of course Zoey finds out and is like RAWR HOW COULD YOU and they more or less break up again. Then at the very end of the book Zoey finds out her parents have made up and are back together so she decides to up and forgive Lucas because ~she loves him~. This is clearly not going to last so I'm basically just rolling my eyes. The main story line this time around was Aisha getting a call from her ex-boyfriend Jeff who's now a ~rap star~ and opening for Salt-n-Pepa and Queen Latifah and invites her to the show in Boston. Everyone but Jake agrees to go, but they all drive separately. Aisha goes with Christopher, Lucas and Zoey, but she separates from the group, gets mugged, smacks her head and ends up believing that she's fourteen again and dating Jeff. This leads to him picking her up in the limo and a lot of making out with Jeff before she remembers who she is now. The amnesia thing was kind of a dumb plot device.Nina and Benjamin drive to the concert separately, but Nina gets them hopelessly lost and then the van gets stuck. This storyline was ridiculous because they end up at this creepy violin playing guy's house who's like I DON'T HAVE A PHONE YOU CAN SLEEP IN THE BARN and then there's creepy people outside because it's Halloween but it turns out they're just actors being filmed for the Jerry Springer show (wat). Claire's story was probably the most interesting. She's been talking to this guy Flyer online and she agrees to meet him at the airport. I pretty much knew immediately that Flyer was actually the "fat guy" and he was feeding the hot sexy guy lines. The whole thing was kind of ridiculous but I liked it. I liked the kind of realism of how everything turned out with that.Jake is just in a bad state all around. He's definitely an alcoholic. He stays behind planning on getting drunk and happens to run into Lara. Idk WTF is up with Lara but I really do not like her. This whoooole part with her was strange as fuck. Something about a ouija board and Lara telling him that she believes her real dad is a demon? I don't know. I want Lara to just go away but I know she doesn't because there are named Lara books coming up. Sigh. (hide spoiler)]
